Wembanyama, who has missed 10 games with a calf strain, might also miss the game against the Lakers for the Emirates NBA Cup’s quarterfinals on Wednesday, according to McDonald, but is nearing his return.

McLaughlin, who has been inactive for the past nine games due to a hamstring issue, also practiced with the team but is listed as out against the Pelicans.
The Spurs have done remarkably well with two of their best players in recent weeks, going 7-3 in their last 10 games. Several players stepped up to make up for the absences, and the return of Dylan Harper on Nov. 26, after he missed 10 games with a calf strain, gave them a boost.
San Antonio is fifth in the Western Conference standings with a 15-7 record.
