SAN FRANCISCO — The Spurs headed into the All-Star break with the good vibes still rolling Wednesday, pulling out a 126-113 come-from-behind victory over the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center.
All-Star center Victor Wembanyama had 26 points and nine rebounds, while All-Star snub De’Aaron Fox delivered 27 points and eight assists as the Spurs remained undefeated in February.
Keldon Johnson added 21 points off the bench for the Spurs.
The victory was the Spurs’ sixth in a row, marking their second-longest winning streak of the season.
Playing without injured All-Star guard Stephen Curry, the Warriors nevertheless gave the Spurs a run for their money.
Golden State did not trail for the first three quarters, and led by as many as 16 late in the third.
The Spurs used a 24-8 run to tie the score at 94 headed into the fourth. Forty-six seconds later, the Spurs took their first lead of the game on a Harrison Barnes drive and dunk.
Draymond Green, Moses Moody and De’Anthony Melton each scored 17 points to pace Golden State. Green added 12 rebounds and eight assists.
Here are three takeaways from Wednesday’s victory, which improved the Spurs to 38-16, their best record heading into the All-Star break since 2016-17:
1. Fox turns in an All-Star worthy performance
A night earlier, Spurs coach Mitch Johnson wondered aloud how a player like De’Aaron Fox didn’t make the All-Star team,
In the Spurs’ final game before the break, Fox reminded everyone why he should have been considered.
Fox finished with his highest-scoring game since Jan. 22, when he pumped in 31 in a victory at Utah.
At times during an otherwise sluggish start for the Spurs, Fox was the only thing they had going on offense.
He scored 12 of his points in the first quarter, helping the Spurs stick close to the Warriors despite team-wide defensive lapses.
After the final horn Wednesday, Fox headed into a well-earned stay-cation in his hometown of Houston.
Nobody would have blinked had he been invited to Los Angeles for the All-Star game instead.
2. Castle played hurt, and maybe shouldn’t have
Less than 24 hours after taking a nasty fall in the win at Los Angeles, guard Stephon Castle was something of a surprise addition to the lineup Wednesday.
Playing with a tailbone that was painfully bruised, Castle nevertheless attempted to gut out the team’s final game before the All-Star break.
Individually, the results were not spectacular.
Castle ended with eight points on 3-of-11 shooting. He had three turnovers and didn’t seem to move all that well.
He came up big down the stretch, however, pulling down an offensive rebound for a putback basket that gave the Spurs a 116-106 edge with 3:51 to play.
From San Francisco, Castle heads back to Los Angeles to participate in Friday’s Rising Stars game as part of All-Star weekend.
After that, coach Mitch Johnson is hoping Castle will grab himself a well-deserved rest.

Al Horford (20) forces a turnover by Stephon Castle (5) in the first half as the Golden State Warriors played the San Antonio Spurs at Chase Center in San Francisco, on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026.
3. Season moves on without Sochan
The Spurs arrived in San Francisco with an extra seat empty on the charter plane, as forward Jeremy Sochan officially reached a buyout agreement following Tuesday’s game in Los Angeles.
The No. 9 overall pick in 2022, Sochan had fallen out of the rotation this season. The team worked to move him in advance of the trade deadline, but could not find a deal that wouldn’t require them to also send out draft compensation.
And so Sochan was waived Wednesday, in hopes he might find a landing spot that would give him a showcase opportunity in what is left of a contract year.
The writing was on the wall long before Tuesday, when Sochan was the only player to log a DNP in a win over the Lakers they led by as many as 41 points.
“We were all very aware of his desire to be in the rotation, given more of an opportunity, especially lately,” coach Mitch Johnson said. “We wanted to do right by him and make sure he had that opportunity.”
Sochan’s departure marks an unceremonious closing chapter for the Spurs’ ill-fated 2022 draft class.
The team had three first-round picks that season, using them on Sochan, Malaki Branham and Blake Wesley.
None of that trio remains with the team.
