Spurs coach Mitch Johnson offered an update Sunday on Dylan Harper’s left calf strain, saying the rookie guard is “progressing” and no longer has to wear a walking boot after suffering the injury in a game against Phoenix on Nov. 2.
“It’s getting better and it’ll be good to have him back on the court ramping up here pretty soon,” Johnson said before the Spurs faced the Kings in the third game of a five-game homestand.
Sunday marked the seventh game Harper has sat out since leaving the Phoenix game late in the second half.
Harper was sidelined after six games, averaging 23.3 minutes off the bench, 14.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists.
The Spurs have not issued an official timeline for Harper’s return.
