League Pass

ABC

ESPN

NBA TV

Peacock

Prime Video

How to watch San Antonio Spurs in 2026-27: New streamer, TV schedule for Wembanyama’s crew

Image

The NBA Finals drew its largest audience since 1998 last season, as viewers watched Victor Wembanyama and the young San Antonio Spurs come up short in a five-game thriller against the veteran-laden New York Knicks. Expect that extra attention to carry into the 2026-27 season. The pressure is on, and returning to the finals is now the baseline for success.

San Antonio largely keeps its roster intact. Wembanyama, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year and Western Conference Finals MVP during his first playoff run, remains the centerpiece. Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper are back in a crowded backcourt alongside De’Aaron Fox. Longtime Spurs guard Devin Vassell and Sixth Man of the Year Keldon Johnson also return.

Tobias Harris was the big offseason prize, joining on a two-year deal. San Antonio also inked sharpshooter Julian Champagnie to a three-year extension.

The team’s continuity extends beyond the roster. It spent the offseason growing the Jackals, the European-style supporters section that Wembanyama launched last year. September auditions for 100 new members drew, among others, one fan dressed as the demonic nun from “The Conjuring” and another as Dr. Doom, each with a Spurs-related twist.

Following all 82 games requires a little elbow grease and attention to detail this season. Spurs games are split among ABC, ESPN, NBC and Peacock, Prime Video and NBA TV, while DAZN is the team’s new regional streaming home.

Make sure you’re following the Spurs on The Athletic, as well as beat reporter Jared Weiss, for up-to-date coverage and analysis as San Antonio attempts to become the first team since 2019 to make back-to-back trips to the NBA Finals.

You can watch in-market and nationally televised NBA games on Fubo (Stream Free Now). Out-of-market viewers can stream regional games with NBA League Pass.

How to watch regional Spurs broadcasts

In-market fans

Most NBA broadcasts are regional, which means that they’re only televised in the participating teams’ TV markets. Local fans will need access to their regional sports network, also known as an RSN.

The Spurs have a new regional home in 2026-27. DAZN replaces FanDuel Sports Network Southwest as San Antonio’s direct-to-consumer option for viewers across Central, South and West Texas.

DAZN will carry every regular-season Spurs game that isn’t exclusive to a national broadcaster for fans who sign up for a monthly or season pass. In addition, anyone who creates a DAZN account can watch 15 games that the streamer is showing for free. The Spurs say 22 games will also be available for free over the air through a local broadcast partner.

Out-of-market fans

Streaming regional games beyond a fan’s home market requires NBA League Pass. The only parts of the schedule blacked out on League Pass are national TV games and in-market RSN broadcasts. Local blackouts will be available three days after the live broadcast, and national TV games can be replayed on League Pass at 6 a.m. ET the following day.

League Pass has different subscription options — the higher tiers swap out commercials for in-arena levities like dancing fans and mascot performance art. Streamers can toggle between home and away feeds.

San Antonio fans can choose to just lock in on their Spurs through the NBA Team Pass subscription option.

  • Sunday, Feb. 28 (in Austin, Texas): vs. Denver Nuggets, ABC at 1 p.m. ET/noon CT

Let’s now take a look at each of the national broadcast partners below.

ABC

This is where the Larry O’Brien Trophy finds its home, where Mike Breen shouts “bang!,” and where “Jingle Hoops” gifts us five matchups across Christmas Day.

Because it’s broadcast TV, the games on ABC can feel rather stately. The network’s primetime Saturday spots begin in December, while its Sunday doubleheaders start at the end of February. ABC’s coverage crescendos at season’s end with exclusive rights to the NBA Finals.

Last year marked the inaugural run for “Inside the NBA” on ABC and ESPN, after the studio show’s long and strange tenure with TNT Sports. Charles Barkley claims that he and anchor Ernie Johnson might retire after 2026-27 is in the books.

ESPN

ABC and ESPN are tied together under the Walt Disney Company, and they will combine for 80 game broadcasts throughout the regular season. While both channels hold court on Saturdays and Sundays, ESPN has additional weeknight offerings spread around Wednesdays and Fridays.

**What you’ll need to watch these games:**ABC is free over the air. ESPN comes with pay TV packages or a subscription to ESPN Unlimited.

NBA TV

Here is our most straightforward of these league partners. NBA TV just pulls a simulcast from the featured home team’s RSN, and throws some local flavor into the national rotation. Though it operates as a standalone channel, NBA TV also lives within the League Pass app.

What you’ll need to watch these games: NBA TV is included with a League Pass subscription. It’s available through most pay TV plans, though some might require a sports or premium package.

NBC and Peacock

We’re now in the second year of NBC’s NBA revival after its absence of more than two decades.

Most of the revamped elements are still in the mix. “Roundball Rock” returns, thankfully. The same goes for the “Coast 2 Coast Tuesday” format. It’s not a traditional doubleheader, though both broadcasts stream on Peacock. There’s one NBC game at 8 p.m. ET for viewers in Eastern and Central time zones, plus select markets on Mountain time. Then there’s another NBC game at 8 p.m. PT for Pacific and other Mountain crowds.

NBC has the season-opening action, All-Star Weekend and holiday quadruple-headers for both MLK Day and Presidents Day. Its “Sunday Night Basketball” primetime window opens on Jan. 24, after NBC’s NFL obligations are in the rearview.

The network’s play-by-play voices include Mike Tirico, Noah Eagle and Michael Grady. Newly inducted Hall of Famer Doc Rivers joins the group of in-game analysts, too.

All NBC games are on Peacock, but the Peacock exclusives require a subscription for streaming or NBCSN access for linear viewing.

What you’ll need to watch these games: NBC is free over the air, and a subscription to Peacock’s premium plan includes live sports broadcasts. NBCSN is included in some pay TV packages.

Prime Video

Our final stop is the league’s newest broadcast partner. Like NBC, Prime Video hopped into the rotation last season. But the streamer had no prior foothold in live NBA coverage. It bought in with splashy signings — Ian Eagle and Kevin Harlan on the mic, plus studio presence from the likes of Dirk Nowitzki and Blake Griffin.

This year’s Prime slate is headlined by the in-season NBA Cup, from the elimination stages through the championship game. It also has the Spurs’ NBA Global Games in Paris and Manchester, England. Prime has the Eastern Conference finals come playoff time and a series of midseason Thursday doubleheaders as well.

What you’ll need to watch these games: A Prime Video subscription.
