My biggest takeaway from the California Classic: Gillespie with an 18-5 assist-TO through the three games.
He looked flashier today than his first two games and shot very well, but I’m much more impressed with his ability to consistently make really good decisions. If he is going to turn into the 3rd string PG, that will be much more important than his shooting IMO (his shooting is just icing).
Reed also looked good. But I really want to see him playing with guys like Fox, Castle, and Harper, to give him better opportunities in pick n rolls.
