Spurs to face Atlanta, San Antonio’s Kingston Flemings in Vegas opener
The Spurs’ four-game schedule for the Las Vegas Summer League will kick off against Atlanta and former Brennan and University of Houston standout Kingston Flemings at 3:30 p.m. on July 9, the NBA announced Friday.
ESPN2 is set to carry the game. The Hawks selected Flemings with the No. 8 overall pick Tuesday night.
All of the league’s 30 teams will play in the showcase for rookies and other young players that features 76 games from July 9-19.
After a day off, the Spurs will play back-to-back games against New York at 5 p.m. July 11 and Milwaukee at 8 p.m. July 12.
ESPN will broadcast both games.
The Spurs will face Utah and No. 2 pick Darryn Peterson at 8:30 p.m. July 15 on Prime.
All start times are Central. The Spurs’ first two games will be play at the Thomas & Mack Center. The final two will be played at the facility’s Pavilion venue.
The Spurs will also play a fifth game with details to be announced later.
The regular schedule ends on July 16. The semifinals are scheduled for July 18 and the championship is set for July 19.
The Spurs roster is expected to include first-round pick Tarris Reed Jr. (26th overall) and second-round picks Ja’Kobi Gillespie (No. 42) and Maliq Brown (No. 44).
The participation of the team’s first pick, No. 20 Jayden Quaintance, is uncertain due to his ongoing recovery from surgery on his right knee. The forward said after the Spurs selected him Tuesday night that he faces another surgery on his knee after undergoing a procedure to repair a torn ACL on March 19, 2025 at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix when he was a freshman at Arizona State.
