(Victor Wembanyama)
(De’Aaron Fox)
(Stephon Castle)
(Devin Vassell)
评分:A-
(Julian Champagnie)
评分:A-
(Dylan Harper)
评分:A-
(Luke Kornet)
(Harrison Barnes)
(Keldon Johnson)
(Carter Bryant)
(Mitch Johnson)

Grades: San Antonio Spurs at Toronto Raptors – Game #58
The San Antonio Spurs successfully climbed their way out of a hole to beat the Toronto Raptors on the road and claim their tenth straight victory. The good guys trailed by as many 15 points but outscored the Raptors 32-17 in the fourth quarter to rally to a 110-107 win.

Spurs at Raptors – Final Grades
Victor Wembanyama
This was Wembanyama’s most difficult outing in a while. He was ice cold from the field, struggled rebounding the ball and even missed a clutch free throw. His energy level was minimal and he was intimidated by Toronto’s physicality. There were some bright spots, however. Wembanyama’s rim protection was outstanding, he hit a big three-pointer and his overall level of play peaked in the fourth quarter. Even when he has an off game, Wembanyama can still positively impact the proceedings.
Grade: D+
De’Aaron Fox
It’s difficult to forgive Fox for shooting 2-for-8 from the free throw line. Those misses single-handedly made this a more difficult than necessary game for the Spurs to capture. But, yeah, other than his charity stripe woes, Fox did a lot of good work on the offensive end. He shot well from the field and his pushing of the pace was key. That said, his playmaking was lacking and his defensive effort was mediocre.
Grade: C-
Stephon Castle
The good: Castle hit 2-of-4 three-pointers and he now has his three-point shooting up to 30% on the season. He also played really good defense against the Raptors. Passing-wise, he had some heavy dimes. The bad: Castle hit only 2-of-6 from inside of the arc and his finishing was particularly pedestrian. His overall playmaking wasn’t anything to write home about, as he was too loose with the ball at times and looked too much for his own shot at other times.
Grade: C+
Devin Vassell
Vassell saved the day for the second straight game. He led the Spurs in scoring again with 21 points. His three-point shooting was the best thing San Antonio had going all night long. He was 5-for-6 from deep and he looks supremely confident shooting the ball right now. I also liked Vassell’s defensive performance and the fact that his energy level was high throughout the evening.
Grade: A-
Julian Champagnie
Once again, Champagnie quietly posted a vital showing. He did a little bit of everything and the Spurs don’t win this game without his contributions. Champagnie was 3-for-7 from three-point land, grabbed six rebounds and handed out five assists. His basketball IQ and awareness were impressive to witness; he has really improved in those areas over the course of his career. Champagnie was also a force for good on the defensive end.
Grade: A-
Dylan Harper
In the first half, Harper kept the Spurs afloat with 15 points on 7-for-8 shooting from the field. He looked like the most deadly player on the court and his natural talent was oozing. In the second half, Harper turned up the playmaking. While he didn’t score after halftime, his ability to create shots for his teammates kept him on the court. Defensively, Harper was solid and the rookie was lightning quick to loose balls. Overall, he did really well and showed off his vast potential.
Grade: A-
Luke Kornet
Kornet had his ups and downs in Toronto. There were times where he was getting outpositioned and outplayed by the bigs on the Raptors. He also looked clumsier than usual. But, thankfully, Kornet found his footing before it was too late and gave better minutes. By the end, he was playing well on defense and helping the offense flow.
Grade: C
Harrison Barnes
Better. I’m not sure we’ll ever see the return of Mr. 100% but at least Barnes showed signs of life north of the border. He hit a pair of threes, hustled on defense and played with more confidence than usual. For Barnes, while the numbers don’t look like anything to write home about, this was a step in the right direction.
Grade: B+
Keldon Johnson
KJ hurt his shoulder on a collision in the first half and that’s the main reason why his numbers were all substandard. He connected on only one shot and pulled down just one rebound. The silver lining for Johnson on this night was the fact that he finished with three assists and no turnovers. Let’s hope he’s healthy going forward.
Grade: D+
Carter Bryant
Bryant hit a three-pointer for the seventh straight game and played some energetic defense. The rookie had some mistakes but he played with electricity and gave the team a boost when it really needed one.
Grade: B
Mitch Johnson
It was another quality coaching performance. Coach Mitch sticking with Harper down the stretch was really good to see. Rewarding the rookie with crunch minutes is smart. The gameplan made sense and he was able to coax enough energy out of a team that looked to be running on fumes.
