The 7-foot-4 Frenchman was an easy choice for Western Conference Defensive Player of the Month for January after he recorded 132 rebounds, 29 blocks and 12 steals in 13 games, making him the only player in the conference to record 100+ rebounds, 25+blocks and 10+ steals.

His 2.23 blocks per games ranked third in the NBA while he averaged just 27.7 minutes per game. With Wembanyama on the floor, opponents shot just 42.4% compared 48.0% when he was off the floor.

It’s the second time Wembanyama has received the award since the NBA unveiled it in 2024-26. He also learned in January that he will represent the Spurs as a starter for the international team at the All-Star Game in Inglewood, Calif., on Feb. 15.
