Wembanyama, meanwhile, struggled a bit in his first competitive action since the Spurs were bounced from the NBA Finals in June. The newly named French captain ended with 10 points and four rebounds while committing six turnovers in 24 minutes of action.
True to form, Wembanyama did collect a pair of highlight reel blocked shots, including one against Jokic himself.
The two teams — and two stars — will square off again in another friendly match Sunday, this time in Orleans, France.
After that, Wembanyama and Les Bleus resume World Cup qualifying competition Aug. 27 with a game against Slovenia in Paris.
