So much of getting to the finals, never mind winning, is about health, luck, and matchups on any given day. The Spurs are certainly one of the best teams in the league. They put themselves (or kept themselves) in the championship conversation. That’s all you can really hope for.

It’s pretty much just health. The Spurs beat injured teams in the West and then they themselves were injured in the Finals with Fox’s ankle and Mitch Johnson 's brain injury. If they’re the healthiest team, they’re the best team

Luke was not healthy going into playoffs. He probably wasnt close to himself. Seemed slower. KJ definitely injured his shoulder vs OKC.

Tobias Harris and Tarris Reed give us two things we categorically did not have last year. A four, who also happens to be capable of shooting, and a third string center. Lack of frontcourt depth is what lost us the finals, and that has been addressed. If Quintance comes back and is playable at all, we’re even better.
