One. The shot is clearly there. When he has his feet set you think it’s going in. If he gets minutes next year - could definitely see his 3P% be around 36-38% next year.
Two. He’s still raw. The handle isn’t advanced. He’s not able to break down his man off the dribble really at all, and has to settle for tough twos. That lack of experience/refinement extends to all levels of his game - from the dumb fouls/turnovers during the playoffs to even the highlight here where he runs right into the driving lane of Gillespie and they almost collide. Those dumb mistakes are the clearest barrier - not HB, Keldon, or Harris - to minutes next year as his defensive ability is irreplicable and would allow the Spurs to put out lineups like Harper, Castle, Vassell, CB, Wemby with no weak or even average defenders (imagine Brunson’s best option in the Finals being…Vassell instead of Champagnie).
Three. The defensive highlights are insane. There really just are not many guys that have the blend of size, speed, fluidity, or athleticism at the 3-4. You can easily see parallels to other great wing defenders. Easily guards 1-4 - but we already knew that. Only thing left is getting strong enough where he’s credible against 5s.
Four. To me the offensive track for Bryant is more as a shooter - especially if he can start being able to shoot off the move or one-two dribbles. Doesn’t really have a handle or creative finishing package. Outside attacking closeouts, lobs, or cuts - not really sure how he generates 2p looks.
Five. The clear developmental comp for him is OG. They’re identically sized and have similar games (especially at this stage of their careers). Even if CB doesn’t ever get a “bag” his 3P shot and his defensive value are worth a ton.
