Games 1-3 will all be at 8:30 PM CT, while Game 4 will be at 6:30 PM CT. Games 5-7 are TBD and will be scheduled as needed. Another note is there is only one time there will be an extra day off between games (i.e. two instead of 0ne), and that will be between Games 5 and 6 if needed, but there will be no break for any other travel days, such as between Games 2 and 3.

Perhaps the most annoying thing about this schedule is Game 1 in particular does not have to be so late since it’s not a double header, but oh well. The Spurs are back in the playoffs, and that’s all that really matters. This will be an interesting round considering we don’t know the state of the Timberwolves’ health. We know Donte DiVincenozo is out, but players like Ayo Dosunmo and especially Anthony Edwards are still up in the air.

With the early exit of Boston, things are shaping up pretty good for the Spurs to pull off a miracle season. Biggest obstacles should we take care of the Wolves would be OKC & NYK. We’ve had regular season success against the Thunder, while if pitted against NYK in the Finals, it would set up an excellent revenge game for the Cup Finals loss. And we all know that Wemby does not ever want to lose twice in a row to ANY opponent. He would be fired up.

But I still say the defending champions are the biggest obstacle to a title again in SA. If we get to the Western Finals, it would be a tremendously exciting series for Spurs fans, regardless of the end results. Our greatest teams during the big three era (and KL) lost in the Western Finals before. In fact, it happened 4 times since 2001. Usually, a team has to face a deflated result in the conference finals before they win it all, but we’ll see.

Not at all a fan of this new televised playoff format with games being broadcast on different networks. I’m fortunate to have a cable subscription that includes ESPN, NBC and NBCSN, and also subscribe to streaming platforms Peacock and Amazon. As an NBA fan, it’s not good if you can’t watch a game because of lack of access to one or more of those networks, especially during the playoffs

Having watched Spurs games on every one of those channels, Peacock is the worst as it doesn’t allow you to fast forward through commercials and you’re stuck having to watch them. At least Amazon Prime lets the viewer fast forward past commercials so you don’t have to wait through a slew of ads you don’t want to watch.

Much preferred it when a playoff series was televised on one network. It was either ESPN/ABC or TNT. It was predictable and logical. I don’t see the logic of having a series go from NBC to ESPN, and then to Prime, then back to NBC. I assume it’s financially advantageous for the NBA and its broadcast partners to spread them out across different platforms, but for fans, it’s a less than ideal viewing experience.

All that aside, it should be an interesting series against the Wolves. Anything can happen in a series, but, if all goes well, it seems inevitable that San Antonio will play the OKC in the conference final. Should the Spurs get past the Thunder, I imagine they’d have a very good chance at winning it all this year against a weaker Eastern Conference in which every team looks vulnerable.
