Spurs Jackals howl ahead of Game 5
Spurs fans are bringing the noise before Game 5, including the Spurs Jackals, a group dedicated to “building the loudest, most intimidating home-court atmosphere in the NBA.”

One fan, who calls himself “Wolf Man Sam,” showed up in a wolf mask and howled with the crowd outside the arena on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, before Game 5 of the Spurs, Trail Blazers.
“Being a Spurs fan here at the playoffs this season, it means everything,” said one fan who calls himself “Wolf Man Sam.”

Blazers stick with same Game 5 starters
Despite speculation Portland could swap in Robert Williams, coach Tiago Splitter is sticking with the same starting five Tuesday night.
Spurs coach Mitch Johnson said it wouldn’t matter. “We’ve seen plenty of both,” he said.
Donovan Clingan has started all four games, averaging 6.3 points and 8.5 rebounds in about 20 minutes per night, with Portland outscored by 38 points during his time on the floor.
Williams has been more productive off the bench, averaging 8.8 points and 7.5 rebounds on 68% shooting in 22.5 minutes, with the Blazers plus-8 while he’s on the court.

Game 5 isn’t just big on the court. San Antonio native Spensha Baker will sing the national anthem ahead of tipoff.
“I’m honored to be singing the National Anthem at tonight’s Playoff Game,” she wrote in a Tuesday story post to Instagram.
Halftime features Duo Transcend, with DJ Quake, the Spurs Hype Squad and The Coyote handling in-game energy. Nalani is set to perform in the Ultra Club during warmups and overtime.

Commerce Street stays open if Spurs close it out
Commerce Street will remain open tonight if the Spurs close out the Trail Blazers in Game 5, according to San Antonio police.
Fans looking to celebrate downtown won’t face the same roadblocks as Sunday, when East Commerce Street was shut down and cut short postgame celebrations.
Police say there are no planned closures ahead of tipoff, even with the Spurs one win away from advancing.
