dooley_mau5:没错,确实如此。
Aggravating_Impact97:他被双人三人包夹,而且上一场比赛他打了差不多40分钟。

Really need kelly and luke back for center depth, wemby is TIRED
tms78:He looked tired because the Suns were beating him up all night.
Castle and Vassell let a little trash talk get in their heads, which took the hands off the proverbial wheel.
There is no excuse for how little patience that had at getting Wemby the ball. The offense only works if Wemby is operating as a hub.
We win that game if they don’t get so many wide open threes, because 98 of their 130 points were scored outside the paint. Imaginary-Cycle-1977:We had 2 days off a game and 2 days off leading up to this game. I don’t think Wemby shoulda been super fatigued
TheRatManBob:He wasn’t fatigued before the game. He like every 21 year old is not physically capable of being the lead scorer and defender for 30 plus minutes. Giannis and Lebron couldn’t at his age either. He needs Fox back to take the heat off him on offense and for the large white boys to get healthy so he can get breaks. We also need a real power forward so that he isn’t the sole rim defender all the time.
ifuckwithit:I mean sure but he looked fatigued long before he hit the 30 min mark. Biggest thing was him having no help. Why pass it to Champagnie or Vassell if they’re just going to toss up bricks?
On track for 81-1
We got the one loss out of the way, time for 75 straight wins.
Prayer’s up for Dylan, hate to see him in a boot, hope it’s not serious and he’s back soon, he was hooping.
With the Suns shooting over 50%+ on threes and Spurs having the worst 3 pt shooting night, Wemby having an off game and some of these questionable fouls a loss was expected.
Shout out to Barnes for hitting some shots and Castle being our go to guy tonight, hated seeing the loss, but loved seeing the team battle for the full 48.
PS: FREE RILEY MINIX
Go Spurs Go! siphillis:So the boot is pretty common for even minor strains/sprains. Getting blood flowing and adding pressure early is the current meta for treating soft-tissue issues. Point being, don’t read too much into the boot
FunnyScreenName:this the type of optimism I need in my life.
adelphotes:Only optimistic takes here, check out my comment history in r/nbaspurs : )
GO SPURS GO!
it’s okay, next game hopefully everyone’s back
Raven-19x:That “everyone is still out” tweet on Tuesday gonna piss us all off lol.
murkymurk94:gonna go crazy if nobody is back lol
1966jpgr:Prepare yourself lol
OGWallenstein:I’m going to bite my fucking phone if I see that fucking sheet filled with everyone out.
CorporateKnowledge5:Now Harper will be out and I’m afraid it’s not going to be a short stretch…
thatwashedguy:Harper’s gonna be out for a while but if Fox/Sochan/Kornet aren’t back within 3 games max then I’m gonna be so irritated lol
A taste of humble pie for the guys and for our fanbase. Got a little too comfortable reading our press clippings. Gonna need everyone and mostly Vic to be more aggressive the next go around.
This is going to be the hurdle for this team this season. Playing off Victor double and triple teams, and not only that but his ability to navigate those situations. deneuvig:Spot on, this team needed the L to get its head right. We were too cute about the winning streak. Only real downer is Harper, I hope his strain is minor
someguyfromtecate:I got downvoted to oblivion for saying we can’t win them all. This sub needed a reality check and we got one handed to us in the form of a woodshed spanking.
dooley_mau5:Yeah they sure did. Now saying 81-1 I get that people want to be optimistic and all but I mean it’s pretty cringe and delusional. I’ll take 74-8 lol
Whelp I guess I’m staying off all socials tomorrow.
Bruh
Shitty shooting night for us and an unreal night for the Suns, not much you can do about that tbh. Game was already over by the time we tried making a run in the 4th
WoweeZoweeDeluxe:We could’ve defended the perimeter much better
Wemby has never won any game when he faces Luka, he is 0-4 against him. Wemby step up in the next game!!
12 points is better than a 31 point loss.
wryano:12 point loss with lop-sided officiating during one of Wemby’s worst games of his career while the other team shot a whopping 32% better from three than us and while we are missing four rotational players (now five with Harper out).
i’ll take it? on paper that’s a 40 point blowout
Well, buck stops at 5-0. I’m just gonna choose to look at it glass half-full, we were gonna lose at some point, I’d rather it be to this team than the Lakers or Rockets. And maybe this will give them more fire for those games anyways. Fuck it, we move on.
Needed Sochan today. Barnes can’t guard anyone let alone bigs and Biyombo might as well not suit up.
we need sochan back asap
also prayers for harper
First post. I watched the whole thing
Just goes to show how impressive LeBron 10 point streak is too.
Alright.
First off, I’m not worried that they lost. The Warriors got rolled by a Giannis-less Bucks and the Hospital Pacers back-to-back, and nobody’s predicting the lotto for them. 5-1 is a great start, and this is still a playoff team until definitively proven otherwise.
What I am worried about is how they lost. “Well, the Suns were just red hot from 3, it happens.” You know who else was unusually hot from 3 for a nice stretch of time? The Nets and Heat. Look, we know that teams are not going to seriously challenge Wemby inside, his presence alone turns a clean lane into a drive-and-kick. The Spurs cannot afford to slack off out on the perimeter. Teams are going to shoot more 3s against the Spurs than usual because of Wemby’s defensive gravity, so the defense has to be tight and ready to challenge shooters. The Nets walked into too many open 3s. So did the Heat. And now the Suns just went supernova. In a league that already heavily encourages a high volume of 3pt shooting, having that as a weak point will lose you more games than not, and given the Spurs’ specific circumstances, it’s a potential Achilles’ heel for opposing teams to exploit.
Now, going on to the other side…the Spurs just aren’t a team of shooters, and I think it’s high time they accept that and stop trying to force themselves to play like it. Not a single person on this roster is enough of a threat from 3 on their own to fully pull the defense away from Wemby. So they need to find other ways to get that done. To me, the answer is constant movement. Screens, cuts, kicks, rolls, etc. Get the defense to have to decide between staying at home in the paint or chasing around and not conceding open looks and lanes. I know the dream is to have a Dwight/Jokic-esque team around Wemby to give him room in the post…but Harper and Castle are at their best when penetrating and pressuring the rim. Vassell’s at his best when knocking down midrange jumpers. KJ and Sochan are at their best when they’re doing the dirty work down low, cleaning up messes, and finishing plays. Fox is a bit of a Swiss army knife.
Wemby is so much more than a Dwight or a Jokic. Wemby can operate in any spot on the court and move around every bit as good as anyone else on the team, he’s only ever a stride or two away from being back in the paint anyway. There’s no need to have him as this stationary paint presence when you can take advantage of his athleticism and gravity, dragging defenses with him and clearing up space for his teammates to operate. Wemby is every bit as capable as his teammates when it comes to initiating plays, there’s no need to force him into a slightly more passive role by always having his teammates feed him the ball (especially when they seem to struggle so hard with entry passes). Give him the ball early, in a variety of different ways, let him have the power to pick and choose how he wants to attack, instead of constantly making him do the same post up/back down/turn/face up routine that’s just begging for the double and triple team to come. It just feels like the Spurs’ offense gets so stagnant because they’re not playing to their specific strengths, instead choosing to play with the style that conventional wisdom says they should.
I’m kinda glad that the Spurs got plastered like this, because all the niggling issues that have been showing up and sticking around over the last few games were easier to overlook with wins. This provides an opportunity for them to begin the process of cleaning up some of these bad habits.
I’m angry we lost, yes you can’t win every game but come on man we can’t lose to this shit Phoenix Suns team
But I’m not gonna overreact. Wemby was terrible but he can’t play this bad every game, Suns shot almost 60% from the 3’s and the refs was terrible. We also shot 24% from 3’s. This game is a anomaly
Stephon Castle & Keldon Johnson only ones stepping up to the challenge and not backing down. Disappointed with the mentality of the team today
Hopefully De’Aaron Fox, Luke Kornet & Jeremy Sochan is back next game against the Lakers. And hopefully Dylan Harper injury isn’t serious
Horrible game but we move widelyruled:This game is a anomaly
Or maybe it’s regression to the mean. With Fox and Kornet out, this is similar to what we ran last year, with poor shooting completely disabling our ability to counter defenses swarming Wemby before we can even feed him the ball. DirtyWizardsBrew:It feels very VERY similar to the past two seasons.
I genuinely hate how I’m always expecting them to perform like this no matter who we’re up against (especially when it’s against a really awful team).
This game is probably the biggest proof that we’re still maybe just 1 solid wing away from truly contending. Replacing Jules in the starting lineup is the easiest place this team could get better. Get well soon, Harp.
I’m ready to see this team be healthier with Fox, Sochan, Kornet, and Olynyk back. TheSatanist666:We are one Jaden McDaniels away from contending. We need a 3 and D wing that can defend and shoot at a higher level. Julian is not a starter.
wemby stinker, Vaseline stinker, Harper injured, this nba script sucks
People being “worried” about Wemby’s stamina/health need to take a step the fuck back and realize that Wemby is being pressed by three defenders constantly and is playing with Bismack as his backup.
That’s going to gas out anyone, especially when on every possession you’re fighting for position through double/triple teams and nobody fears your teammates because they’re not hitting their shots.
Worried about Wemby’s conditioning. He always looks gassed.
Aggravating_Impact97:he was doubled and tripled team and the game before he played like 40 minutes.
chill out people act like you’ve watched bball before. We only have one other big out there…and he’s a vet minimum player and Phoenix has all their bigs. They just had a solid plan and couldn’t miss if they tried.
Wemby was so bad tonight it’s got me genuinely concerned about his health.
Also, being conservative about injured players is fine and all, but eventually your healthy players become overtaxed and get injured themselves.
If we don’t get Fox or Sochan back by next game I’m probably not gonna watch. We have many healthy players just sitting on the bench while we are driving Wemby and crew to the ground. It’s frustrating.
Thehelloman0:And you know that they should be playing how? How about we let the professionals figure out when a guy is ok to play.
widelyruled:We have many healthy players just sitting on the bench
Ah yes, Reddit armchair doctors who can diagnose from nothing.
