Castle, the NBA’s Rookie of the Year for 2024-25, was an unanimous selection for the league’s All-Rookie team, released Tuesday.
The 20-year-old Castle joins Atlanta’s Zaccharie Risacher, Washington’s Alex Saar and the Memphis duo of Zach Edey and Jaylen Wells on the first team.
The second-team is made up of Chicago’s Matas Buzelis, Washington’s Bub Carrington, Portland’s Donovan Clingan, New Orleans’ Yves Messi and Miami’s Kel’el Ware.
Castle appeared in 80 games with 47 starts, leading the rookie class in scoring at 14.7 points to go with 4.1 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 0.91 steals. He paced all rookies in total points, made field goals, total steals and made free throws.
Drafted fourth overall out of Connecticut, Castle earned Western Conference Rookie of the Month honors in January and March, and was dubbed the Most Valuable Player of the Rising Stars Challenge during All-Star weekend in February.
He is the only player in the 2024 draft class to top 1,000 points and was the first Spurs rookie since Tim Duncan to rank top two on the team in both points and assists.
Castle is the 13th player in club history to earn All-Rookie designation, and gives the Spurs an All-Rookie honoree for the third consecutive season, following Victor Wembanyama last season and Jeremy Sochan in 2023.
