雷迪克在2023年选秀之前会见了 文班亚马 ,当时他是这位前NBA球员的“The Old Man and The Three”播客的嘉宾。

LOS ANGELES – De’Aaron Fox hates watching games while injured.
“I’m like, man, I don’t know how you all coach,” said the Spurs guard, who is set to undergo surgery Tuesday in Los Angeles to repair a tendon in his left pinkie.
“I couldn’t be here every day and not be able to get on the court and do stuff,” Fox added. “As a competitor, it eats as you, which is another reason I’ve always played through whatever knicks and knacks I’ve had. Watching for me has always been tough.”
It must have been particularly difficult for Fox on Monday night.
Austin Reaves scored 30 points, and the Los Angeles Lakers rolled past the Spurs 125-109 after leading by as many as 28 points in a makeup game after a January contest between the teams was postponed due to the L.A. wildfires.
Luka Doncic had 21 points, 14 assists and nine rebounds to help the Lakers (42-25) win their second in a row after losing four straight.
With the Lakers playing on the second night of a back-to-back, Reaves hit 12 of 21 from the field, delighting the crowd of 17,723 at Crypto.com Arena with moves that froze defenders and gave him clear paths to the basket.
“I thought we got lost a few times on some off-ball actions,” acting Spurs coach Mitch Johnson said. “We did some point switching and stuff where we got caught chasing our tail a little bit, where we weren’t disciplined and weren’t physical off the ball and he made us pay a few times off that.”
Stephon Castle overcame early foul trouble to finish with 23 points for the Spurs (28-39), who have three in a row on the road to fall to 11-22 away from the Frost Bank Center.
It was Castle’s 19th game with 20 or more points. He’s notched seven such games in his last 11 outings.
Devin Vassell finished with 17 points for the Spurs to extend his double-figure scoring streak to a season-high 10 games.
The Spurs fought back from an 18-point deficit midway through the fourth quarter to pull within 11 on a Castle slam with just under 4 minutes left, but the Lakers answered with a 9-0 run sparked by Doncic’s running layup on an assist from Reaves to ice the game.
Jeremy Sochan had 15 points for the Spurs before he was ejected along with the Lakers’ Jarred Vanderbilt for fighting with 6:27 left. The brief skirmish started when Sochan flung the ball at Vanderbilt after the forward got whistled for a shove.
“I thought it was a bump and the basketball throw and some macho stuff that was really nothing,” Johnson said. “I thought they could have called a double tech and moved on. I didn’t think they needed to be ejected, but maybe they wanted to de-escalate the situation.”
Here are three takeaways from the Spurs’ last road game until they embark Saturday on a three-game trip to Toronto, Detroit and Cleveland:
1. Castle showed mental toughness after early foul trouble
The star rookie picked up his third foul defending Doncic with 6:48 left in the first period. Two of the calls were questionable, but the fourth overall pick didn’t let it throw him off his game.
“I thought he did a better job after that of just playing,” Johnson said. “Just play through and don’t worry about it, If you foul out, screw it.”
Castle declined to talk about the officiating.
“It was a tough situation … that’s their judgement,” he said. “It kind of got me off to a rough start to the game, but I was happy I was able to come back in and try and make an impact.”
Castle finished 8 for 19 from the field, including 3 for 6 from beyond the arc, and was 4 of 6 from the free throw line. He also had eight rebounds and three assists.
“He was just relentless getting to the paint,” Johnson said.
All in all, dealing with the early foul trouble and defending Doncic was a great experience for Castle, Spurs point guard Chris Paul said.
“In this league, there’s no teacher like playing,” the 20-year vet said.
2. No matter the uniform, Doncic feasts on the Spurs
Doncic’s triple-double was his eighth against the Spurs and first as a Laker since the Mavericks traded him in a blockbuster deal on Feb. 2 that shocked the NBA.
The Slovenian superstar’s eight triple-doubles against San Antonio are the most he’s had against any NBA team.

Perhaps Doncic’s most impressive play came when he hit Jaxson Hayes with a long pass for a thread-the-needle alley oop slam in the third quarter after Hayes gained a step on Julian Champagnie. Doncic had perfect placement on the pass and fired it with a quick release that would make an NFL quarterback envious.
Doncic struggled with his shooting stroke, hitting just 5 of 20 from the field and 1 of 7 from 3-point range, but he lived at the free throw line, hitting 10 of 13.
“He’s a very, very advanced elite cerebral basketball player as we know,” Johnson said.
3. Redick is a big Wemby fan
JJ Redick, the Lakers’ first-year coach, directed some heartfelt words toward Wembanyama when asked before the game about facing the Spurs without the 21-year-old Frenchman after his season ended Feb. 20 due to a blood clot in his right shoulder.
“Just a great human, a great player, and just a great representative of our league,” Redick said. “Got to know him a little bit and I feel for him.”
Redick met Wembanyama before the 2023 draft when he was a guest on the former NBA player’s “The Old Man and The Three” podcast.
“I was really struck by his maturity and thoughtfulness,” Redick said. “There are a lot of people in any industry that are talented and have success or are going to have success, and they’re looking for, ‘What can I get versus?’ rather than ‘What can I give?’ And he’s a giver, a what-can-I-give person.”
Redick’s fondness for Wembanyama grew after the 7-foot-3 center gave he gave his autographed game jersey to Redick’s sons, Knox and Kai, after the Spurs defeated the Lakers 126-102 on Jan. 13.
It was a feel-good moment after the brothers had lost their sports memorabilia collection in the Pacific Palisades fire that destroyed the Redicks’ home.
But Redick stressed that his fondness for Wembanyama doesn’t just stem from that gesture of kindness.
“I’m close with a lot of people in the Spurs front office,” he said. “I hear all the stories. He’s one of one.”
