There’s no word on Monday’s game yet.
The NBA has announced that Saturday’s match-up between the Spurs and Lakers (as well as the Clippers and Hornets) has been postponed due to the ongoing wildfires in the Los Angeles area. “The NBA and the Clippers and Lakers organizations have been in communication with local officials in Los Angeles and Inglewood about the ongoing situation in the Los Angeles area and the game postponements ensure no resources will be diverted from the wildfire response efforts,” the league said.

It has been a tragic week for the city of Los Angeles with multiple wildfires burning in the area, including destroying much of the Pacific Palisades, Malibu and a contained area in Hollywood Hills. Lakers head coach JJ Redick has confirmed his house has been destroyed, and Warriors head coach/former Spur Steve Kerr’s childhood home, where his mother still resides, and his high school have both burned down. Fortunately, their families were able to evacuate.The same goes for current Spur Chris Paul, whose family also had to evacuate but is safe.
The Spurs also had to change hotels Thursday after the fires got too close for comfort to their Santa Monica hotel. Jeremy Sochan even captured images of one of the fires as the Spurs flew in.

The Spurs are scheduled to play the Lakers in Los Angeles again on Monday, but there is no word as of now if that game will still take place or will be postponed as well. When Saturday’s game will be rescheduled has yet to be announced.
