One final ranking before the NBA Draft gets underway

The NBA Draft is just a few hours away (if you didn’t know/remember, it was broken into a two-night event). By now, you probably have your favorite prospects, those you’re just curious about, and likely a handful who would frustrate you should they be drafted by the San Antonio Spurs. That’s not going to stop me from providing an update to the Big Board I posted here last week, which I know had some readers scratching their head.

Again, I’ll leave some notes before we get into the rankings:

The initial ranking was based solely on how great I felt their highlight tape was and how I felt their game in those highlights would translate to the NBA. That’s why a few guys were in spots that went against consensus.

This update includes more context, looking into weaknesses and whether what looked like strengths showed up enough to feel real. And at the end of the day, my personal belief about how well these guys will do in the NBA played the largest part in the ranking.

I included a “Best Fit” for each prospect. Using where every team is currently slotted to draft, I chose each fit based on where I think the player might be drafted, so Dalton Knecht wouldn’t get the Golden State Warriors due to them not having a pick until No. 52. Every team with a pick got a player, and the teams with multiple first round picks have multiple players.

Heights and weights are the measurements from the NBA Draft Combine and Global NBA pre-draft camp (heights are without shoes). I also used RealGM for their stats and ages.

This list doesn’t include every top prospect. I started out doing this after watching highlights on No Ceilings NBA’s YouTube channel. They had a mix of different players I went through, but then decided to include missing prospects from ESPN’s best available.
