@MaryD1112

@ooothatsgottahurt

Is anyone else still in disbelief we actually got the number one pick in 2023? I know we were tied with the best odds to get it but I still can’t believe we pulled it off.

I remember before the lottery I thought to myself “we’re the best fit for him but I don’t think we’ll get that lucky” and we did end up getting that lucky and I ran around my job celebrating. I still think back on that day and how everything changed that day, still feels like a dream.

nah because we we’re tied for first, getting the 2nd pick two years later is crazy though

@contigency000

Felt like the planets aligned for us to draft him. Just the fact that wemby wanted to be a spurs and that we already had a history of drafting generational big men is crazy.
I can’t imagine wemby in another jersey personally, it’s as if he was destined to be a spurs.

@MaryD1112

Thank you Tony Parker for showing all the young French athletes what the Spurs could do. You set up the karma for Wemby.

@ooothatsgottahurt

You could see how excited wemby was when the spurs got the number one pick. He wanted to be here just as much as we wanted him and it couldn’t be working out any better. For the fans, the city, the team, and Wemby. Can’t imagine it another way

@Johnny5iver

The French connection. An incredibly well run stable organization. Another generational big man who isn’t afraid to make sacrifices for his team. Years and years of continuous success only to have the struggle years come right at the right time.
Do you believe in destiny?

I literally didn’t sleep that night. Spent it binging wemby highlights
