Spurs Sports & Entertainment announced the hiring of Charles Harris Jr. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, as its vice president of technology.

Spurs Sports & Entertainment on Wednesday announced the hiring of Charles Harris Jr. as its vice president of technology.

Harris joins SS&E after a stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as their VP of information technology.

“Grateful for my time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and for the people and relationships that were a part of that journey,” Harris wrote on his LinkedIn profile. "I’m excited for what comes next with the San Antonio Spurs, starting in October.

“The Spurs have deep roots in the community and an exciting vision for the future. I’m looking forward to listening, learning and helping shape what comes next through technology and innovation that create meaningful experiences for our fans and the San Antonio community.”

Harris, who has a doctorate in modeling and simulation from the University of Central Florida and a master’s degree in science and technology from Purdue University, will lead SS&E’s enterprise technology strategy and operations across its teams, venues and business functions, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, venue technology, ticketing systems and fan-facing digital experiences, SS&E announced.

Harris will also provide strategic oversight for the technology components of the Spurs’ new downtown arena project.

“Charles has spent his career overseeing the technology and systems that help organizations operate, grow and adapt, and we’re excited to welcome him to SS&E,” said R.C. Buford. “His expertise will help us continue creating seamless and engaging experiences for fans across our teams and venues. We’re pleased to welcome Charles to San Antonio and look forward to the leadership and perspective.”

Harris will help modernize SS&E’s technology ecosystem and support the systems that power games, concerts and other live events across the organization’s franchises and facilities, SS&E said. He will also work to advance ticketing operations, digital entry, mobile and fan experiences, loyalty platforms, in-arena engagement and other consumer-facing technologies.

Prior to joining the Buccaneers in February 2023, Harris held senior technology leadership roles with Jubilant Radiopharma, where he led technology across a highly regulated, multi-site healthcare organization with operations throughout the United States, and Inmarsat, a global satellite communications company.

“The best technology creates possibilities for people,” Harris said. “That’s why I am excited to join SS&E and become part of the San Antonio community. I look forward to shaping what comes next together, using technology and innovation to create meaningful experiences for our fans and community.”
