Reed was a badass in the NCAA tournament when UConn needed him most and I was thrilled the Spurs snagged him at #26. He’s got size, strength, and a non-stop motor and addresses maybe the Spurs biggest need that was exposed in the playoffs. Nobody is going to push him around. Hard to see anything other than a positive impact from him.

Q might have the biggest ceiling of the four but we’ll need to be patient with him.

I believe the biggest impact will come from Tarris Reed Jr., but not from his on court minutes.

His biggest impact will be in his everyday presence in the training squad, forcing Victor to learn and adapt to the play and game of those physical centers that give him trouble sometimes.

Being able to truly replicate that kind of physicality in everyday training will be the best asset this rookie class will have to make our team reach their ceiling this season.

Brown and Gillespie’s presence in the training squad will also be very helpful for our guards and wings, but the learning from Wemby will be the most important impact to get to where we want to get as a team.

Reed is a full grown 23-year old, and much more NBA ready than a lot of the late round picks the Spurs have gambled on the past decade…I love the fact he prides himself in setting potent, effective screens, a truly under-appreciated skill for a great offense in the NBA (witness the screens Victor sets at the top of the key…LOL)…GSGSGSG
