我觉得这和莫雷作为总经理的糟糕战绩完全无关。对于老板来说，唯一重要的事情就是他们是否愿意花钱，以及他们是愿意让你独立开展工作，还是想要横加干涉。就我所知，费城和休斯顿都放手让他为所欲为，要钱给钱，最后在他搞砸了之后才解雇了他。

People who think they’re the smartest in the room are usually the biggest suckers. Morrey is the perfect example. Supposedly some genius with the craziest IQ yet gets consistently cooked by every other GM in the league.

I find this utterly irrelevant to Morrey’s poor record as a GM. The only thing that matters with owners is if they’re willing to spend and if they’re willing to let you work independently or if they wanna interfere. As a far as I can tell Philly and Houston both just let him do what he wanted, provided the money, and then fired him when he flopped.

I love that shams never even got a chance to mention Champs in rumors before the Spurs just took care of business.
Like there was no “Champs expected to return” or “Spurs likely to try to renegotiate” it was just: deal done
