‘Spurs final boss’ recounts chaotic post-game clash in New York City

Although it’s unclear how the chaotic confrontation began, West appeared to exchange blows with several people while making his way through a crowd of apparent Knicks fans.
After videos showing Spurs fan Wallace West standing his ground against a group of apparent Knicks fans went viral, the newly dubbed “Spurs legend” is speaking out about what happened.
The videos were recorded after the Knicks clinched the 2026 NBA Championship against the Spurs Saturday night and quickly spread across social media with one clip racking up nearly 15 million views.
West, who hails from Philadelphia, was filmed wearing a Dennis Rodman Spurs jersey as he pushed through a crowd of frenzied Knicks fans inside Moynihan Food Hall at Penn Station. Although it’s unclear how the chaotic confrontation began, West appeared to exchange blows with several people while making his way through the crowd.
Additional footage shows West being escorted outside by police, where he continued to face off against apparent Knicks fans. Finally, after the chaos concluded, the “Spurs final boss” posted a photo story to his Instagram.
“They got me in the back of unmarked police car (sic),” he wrote in the post. “If you see any videos of me send them. Them (expletive) were too scared to fight me 1 on 1 and even when they jumped me aint (expletive) happened. The police had to save them.”
According to West, he’s doing just fine. “Y’all gotta stop asking me if I’m okay,” he said in a now-expired Instagram story. They “caught me while I was trying to grab my phone, but I dropped it outside, and that’s about it. I don’t got no damage,” he added.
Well, almost no damage. He displayed a cut on his left fist from when he punched someone “in the jaw.”
“I’m fine,” he said. “I’m back home.”
West’s confrontation was one of several fan incidents that emerged during a contentious Finals series between the Spurs and Knicks as San Antonio pursued a sixth NBA championship. Although the Spurs fell short in Game 5, West’s fire for San Antonio still burns bright.
“I’m not from Texas,” he said, but “I do (expletive) with San Antonio.”
