this is an example of what to do and not whatever Fox thought he was doing.

Mitch needs to put an emphasis on end of game situations/scenarios. There has now been two different games blown because of lack of situational awareness. The coaches need to really hammer down on the details.
mercfan3:Mitch is choking more than the team.
KemoFlash:This is the same guy who didn’t know to call a timeout at the end of Game 2. The guy who let the Spurs bleed all over the floor tonight until the lead was almost completely gone. He’s a coach who needs a coach.
IMT_Justice:I have not been impressed with Mitch this finals. I’m not saying we need to move on, but he has a LOT of playoff stuff he needs to figure out.
strnfd:He won’t just 1 incident is too much (this is the Finals they should have been prepared for eveything) 2 in rapid succession show whatever he did if any didn’t work.
Formal_Ad288:Coach has no idea what he’s doing in these situations either.
FatalTortoise:this is not something you need to emphasize, nobody would think to emphasize that because that’s basic shit taught from when you start playing organized basketball
Fox bball IQ is just 15% of Manu’s.
sydnboy:Lol i don’t think fox IQ is in the same hemisphere of manu.
Like 0.01% cause he does alot of stupid shit
Now show us game 7 2006 west semis
Nickespo22:Too soon. Lol
imover9thousand:Yeah that mightve been worse than last night actually.
Ginobili was also human and made mistakes. But of course, he was tremendously smart and this is an example for it.
Fox will know himself it wasn’t a good decision and hopefully he can bounce back well in game 5.
Manu also fouled Dirk in 2006.
Manu gave and Manu took away.
Fox said he thought he could outrun him.
Deadass. With a straight face. wtf. mercfan3:Then outrun them for 9 seconds while they chase you to foul you!
Even if he makes the basket, they’re only up by 3 with about 8 seconds left and New York has made every clutch three imaginable. imover9thousand:Thats what got me. I was expecting “yeah i fucked up, shouldve ran it out”. He doubled down on the bonehead move
Fwiw
Such-Echo6002:Yes Fox was fouled, but you cannot expect the refs to make that call with 10 seconds left in the game. The refs don’t want to be blamed for a bad call at the crucial moment if they get it wrong. Fox should have just secured the ball and dribbled back out to the perimeter and waited for a foul.
Why didn’t they review this though? Is this something the San Antonio coach should have been jumping up and down for a review of the play for a foul? Probably
The funny thing is Manu had some incredibly stupid decisions over his career too
I agree. But it was a 1 point lead last night. You get the layup in. You at least “secure” OT.
I mean, it was an easier decision for Manu.
Im probably giving Fox too much credit, though. TDTimmy21:Bro had the half court to himself except exactly where OG was lol
mtron32:Right!? That’s the one dude on the Knicks I’m not trying in that situation. Yup, still pissed
the-cock-slap-phenom:Also a split second decision at the end of a tiring and demoralizing game.
It’s a fuck up and an extremely costly one, but I see how it happened and there’s more that went into this game and series that has ended up with us down 3-1.
