@catmeow808

@moongaming

@Frequent_Onion7847

@jyee1050

@No_Enthusiasm_8512

@ampol55

@VinceMaverick

@Wild_Association1752

@catmeow808

@EnterPolymath

@IbSunPraisin

@kingbradley1297

@ChuChuBitch-

@TheMerck

@thecroakman

@iChoke

@bio_Year137

@Armanewb

@Adorable-Writing3617

@Armanewb

@Greglyo

@CarefulAd8858

@KemoFlash

@keldpxowjwsn

@jboggin

@sarpedonx

@jaggedsmile

@MortysTrapHouse

@Embarrassed-Echo-391

@mercfan3

@MortysTrapHouse

@chic_peas

@Greglyo

@addivinum

@AllenZhang44

@zKaios

@The_Guerrilla

@nnnnn4

@xOmerta

@TheKeviKs

@factcheckauthority

@Putrid-Impact8999

@confusion29

@Strong0toLight1

@GoSpur5Go

@JoeRamaSama

@catmeow808

I hope so, we need the wemby in spurs vs okc game 1, you were fearless in that game

@moongaming

And less fatigued.
That was the last time he had the energy to do some nasty.
His conditioning will get better.

@Frequent_Onion7847

i think the option for the upcoming off season will be picking up a center as a starter or another good big or pf for bench so that they can have 2 serviceable big when Wemby starts.

@jyee1050

crazy that we have 3 third string bigs and none of them can play

@No_Enthusiasm_8512

We could have splashed out a bit more for win now bigs if we knew this was in the cards but oh well lol. A Serge Ibaka type guy would be huge here.

@ampol55

good point, Serge Ibaka type will be a good fit and addition. PF that can shoot 3s and can play great defense.

@VinceMaverick

NGL OG Anunoby would be a perfect fit..

@Wild_Association1752

The fact we havent seen a lineup with kornet & wemby frustrates me so much. Play hard defense, let kornet rack up fouls when needed then let olynk come in to foul big mitch. This knicks team is so clearly a momentum team they need to try something else to stop it.

@catmeow808

Yeah atleast try the double big… or something, they have lots of bigs, they havent even try to use it to disrupt knicks

@EnterPolymath

This team had incredible stretches against OKC without Wemby as is. Castle/Vassell/Harper is a crazy core by itself. They lack a bit of experience. That’s all. I’d prefer an undersized playmaking center like Draymond if anything at this point. This post season has been about grit and strength. Incredible time to be an NBA fan and the future is all Spurs.

@IbSunPraisin

He really needs to play 36 min minimum in the regular season. He can still play just 65 but it’s too hard of a vertical ramp to go from 30 to 38 every other day. It would also give him practice on when and how to conserve energy, easiest way to get to his spots, etc. I think them benching him for long stretches in the regular season became a crutch he couldn’t lean on in the playoffs

@kingbradley1297

I was angry and frustrated during the game but after some time, the perspective set in. What happened in the end was inexperience and a good shot that didnt go in. The fact he backed himself to take that shot speaks volume.
The Knicks have a bunch of playoff hardened dudes who have all choked and lost at some point in their careers, at much older ages and before the finals. Everyone glazing KAT now, he was trolled so bad every single time.
They’all get better. Maybe we see some growth in this series. And it definitely is the learning arc in their lives

@ChuChuBitch-

I’m also a pacers fan and when we had our series with him, I would peak into the Knicks sub and KAT would be getting endless hate and just various gay jokes or jokes about how he moves in a feminine way. Now this year he is suddenly a beast to them and the glaze is nonstop.
Edit: spelling

@TheMerck

Knicks fans are insanely fickle, remember how they wanted Mike Brown fired when they went on a bad run this season? lmao I’m glad KAT is finally getting his flowers, the loss hurts and the high chance we lose the series hurts but I wouldn’t be too upset seeing KAT finally get a ring especially after even non Knicks fans have shit on him throughout the years especially when the shit with Jimmy happened.

@thecroakman

I’ve been a huge fan of KAT since he played at UK, he’s the main reason why I wouldn’t be too sad if the Knicks win. That dude has every reason to be the “villain” of the league yet he still keeps such a positive attitude

@iChoke

People don’t realize how close the Spurs are to figuring this series out. Wemby towards the end of the 3rd quarter and 4th quarter was in rhythm. Our offense was flowing, nothing was forced.
Obviously when Vic gets aggressive, the team feeds off of that. However, I think the key to these next couple of games at MSG are gonna be on Castle. The Knicks are funneling him into OG/Mikael and it’s really hampering his angles in the paint.
If the Spurs can figure out how to create the mismatches consistently, they might have something. That 4th quarter was a problem for the Knicks defensively.

@bio_Year137

Sadly he got in rhythm when KAT was on the bench due to foul trouble

@Armanewb

One thing we suck at is drawing offensive fouls. A lot of what KAT does when he goes in could easily be offensive fouls except we don’t even try to draw it. Look at everyone drawing charges on Wemby, vs us content to sit there and just absorb the punishment when KAT goes in.

@Adorable-Writing3617

We lack the experience needed to do these things against players who don’t lack the experience to avoid them.

@Armanewb

Yes, something that (along with the clutch time handles and decision making) will come with experience and reps.

@Greglyo

Agreed, some people might disagree but the Spurs had all of the momentum and the Knicks were ice cold in the last couple minutes of that 4th quarter up until Wemby made that bad pass. Worst case scenario he misses a shot at the end of the 4th quarter and it still goes into OT where the Spurs dominate.

@CarefulAd8858

And by the time he figures it out they’ll already have made adjustments.
The time to figure things out isn’t after you’ve already lost the game and they have time to scheme some more.

@KemoFlash

Knicks aren’t forcing Wemby to shoot quick, stepback corner 3s. Spurs need to figure THAT out if they want to really win this series. Also, he scored 6 points in the first half. It’s not enough. He knows it’s not enough. He knew it wasn’t enough going into this game and it still happened.

@keldpxowjwsn

Hes getting absolutely owned by KAT is all there is to it. Either he bucks up and matches it or this will be a sweep

@jboggin

KAT has been so good in this series. My hot take is I’d give him the FMVP at this point over Brunson. He’s been the best defender against Wemby in this entire playoffs, all while putting up a remarkably efficient 65 TS% on offense. I still think Wemby will figure it out, but KAT has been great on both sides.

@sarpedonx

Castle played amazing defense. Defense on Brunson was great all around.
Fuck the NBA subreddit and claims of spurs whistle lmao. It was a 24-20 foul differential? Grow up

@jaggedsmile

Wemby’s accountability can never be questioned. He messed up but he’s human. More than times than not, he’s bounced back from his mistakes and came back from a vengeance. That’s more than what we’ve seen from established stars in the league. Keep improving, keep backing up your statements. We stand with our Alien. Spurs in 6!!!

@MortysTrapHouse

Our own fans hating on him…
Makes me more sick than losing the game

@Embarrassed-Echo-391

The way the internet has turned on wemby has been insane to witness. Guess we should get used to this

@mercfan3

Knicks have a ton of fans and the Thunder fans are still mad.

@MortysTrapHouse

It more than okc and Knicks fans tho. Its strange. Hes so good for the sport. Hes a great human being and role model. He saved the all star game. He’s so fun to watch. Hes like ohtani. But So many people are hating him for not avg 40ppg in the finals? I dont get it

@chic_peas

Spurs also have a lot of haters for various reasons. Like Rockets fans can’t stand the Spurs success, suns fans are still mad at '07, some Lakers fans have a lot of hate for us also, a small percentage of Minnesota and Blazers fans are still butthurt about the playoffs this year also. Then overall a lot of people are so upset that we got lucky with draft picks

@Greglyo

I agree but the people hating on him keep bringing up the elbow that he threw in game 4 against the Timberwolves. When he wins, he’s great and has GOAT potential, when he loses, he’s a dirty, choke artist. I’ve also said this before and I’ll say it again, NBA fans and also NFL fans are very fickle and fall into the bad habit of changing their opinions very frequently based on how a game ends and we’re seeing it on this very subreddit where a lot of Spurs fans have seemingly turned on Wemby. He does deserve a healthy dose of criticism for the mistakes he made in the last minute but there’s a limit to trashing this kid, a 22 year old making a few mistakes in crunch time in the NBA Finals? Doesn’t sound too crazy to me.

@addivinum

Real fans can acknowledge he made a mistake, and still love the team and admire his game.
*This is the NBA FINALS, THE SPURS ARE IN THE NBA FINALS.*
This could have ended at anytime before this and everyone would still celebrate the season. It’s okay if we don’t get it, Wemby hasn’t been Wemby since the TWolves series. We need him to win these games and he’s just not there, or only there sometimes.
Fox looked hurt at the end for sure, I can’t understand how Castle isn’t hurt.. but for all my life WHY THE FUCK DONT YOU LET DYLAN TAKE THAT SHOT.

@AllenZhang44

Bandwagon fans whatever. What matters is true fans still have faith and believe in the team. These are winnable games, we need to LOCK IN and play OUR basketball

@zKaios

We’re rocking with him for the next decade. But its understandable for people to be disappointed, no one expected this

@The_Guerrilla

Man, it really is a make or miss league. If that jumper falls, everything is soo different.
Doesn’t change the fact that turnover was as brutal as his first half.

@nnnnn4

Prove it Wemby. Dominate and win the next 2 games in NY

@xOmerta

NASTY FROM HERE ON OUT

@TheKeviKs

22 years old in his first NBA finals. I’m not mad at him at all.
Everyone is commiting mistake. The pressure must be huge for that young team. No one expected them to reach the finals. I’m sure no one expected them to even reach the WCF.
What they are doing is still incredible. If the team loses of course I’ll be a bit sad, but in no way, shape or form I’m gonna trash talk that team.
Honestly, I’m gonna just mute Reddit until the end of the final. That level of toxicity is so fucking bad I don’t understand how people can look at a mirror and be proud of them.

@factcheckauthority

SPURS IN 6

@Putrid-Impact8999

Can’t wait for his game 3 display.

@confusion29

Fans treating him like he is a 32 year old veteran lmao . Ffs he is 22 man . We have all seen some of the greats mess up under big pressure . Wemby will be fine . The future is bright for our ball club . Also ppl Just need to start giving the Knicks their flowers man they have been incredible . Fortunate or not to win what is it 12 or 13 games in the row in the playoffs is unreal . The level of focus it takes . I never liked them but I sure respect after this playoffs.

@Strong0toLight1

obviously the right thing to say, shouldn’t have come down to the turnover or a miss while trailing anyways.
call the timeout off the stop, draw up a fucking play to get final shot with scores tied.
just amateur finish to the game and likely the series

@GoSpur5Go

You can really tell which fans hadn’t gone thru the heartbreak of the Rockets games in the 90s. The Lakers in the 00s with 0.4. Manu’s foul on Dirk. We take the good and bad. We learn from the losses. Improve. Best team will win 4 games. It’s not over. History of 0-2 at home doesn’t apply to the current NBA. Anything is possible. Let the Knicks get cocky. Let them pull out the broom. Plan the parade. That’s when we strike. GSG

@JoeRamaSama

We needed that for this game Wemby. Now you gotta go into enemy territory and win twice. You’ve made this harder on yourselves than it has to be.
