Wembanyama, Fox lead Spurs in a blowout
Erasing a letdown performance in the series opener, the Spurs cruised to a rout in Game 2 of their Western Conference semifinals series against the Timberwolves, winning 133-95 on Wednesday in the Frost Bank Center.
The margin was just shy of the largest blowout in playoff history for the Spurs, chasing a 145-105 win against Denver in 1983.
Seven San Antonio players scored in double figures, complementing a stifling performance on the defensive end. The series is level at 1-1 entering Game 3 at 8:30 p.m. Friday in Minnesota.

Spurs rookie Bryant set to return for Game 2
Guard Carter Bryant told reporters shortly before tipoff Wednesday that he’ll be available to play in Game 2, and the Spurs made it official a few minutes later, listing Bryant as “available” on the team’s injury report.
The 20-year-old rookie sat out Monday’s game due to a right foot sprain suffered in practice and was previously listed as questionable. He appeared off the bench in all five games of the Spurs’ first-round series against Portland but was held to six minutes or less in three of them.

Timberwolves coach updates Edwards, Dosunmu’s status
Minnesota coach Chris Finch said shortly before Wednesday’s tipoff that star Anthony Edwards is in line to “play a few more minutes” after logging 25 in his surprising return from a knee injury during Monday’s Game 1 win.
Guard Ayo Dosunmu, who has missed the past two games due to a right calf strain, is also stepping back into action in Game 2. He averaged 14.4 points per game during the regular season after being traded to Minnesota but exploded for 43 in a Game 4 win against Denver during the opening round, becoming one of the most talked-about players in the league.

Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs face the Timberwolves in the Western Conference semifinals at Frost Bank Center.
Spurs still favored in Vegas despite Game 1
After neither team led by more than nine points during Minnesota’s 104-102 win during Game 1, San Antonio has been installed as a 10.5-point betting favorite in Game 2.
The Spurs were also a 10.5-point favorite in Game 1, only to be upset on their home court, meeting the type of fight from the Timberwolves that is typical for a playoff atmosphere. But Las Vegas rakes in money for a reason. San Antonio was 32-8 at home during the regular season, and the Spurs were 5.3 points per 100 possessions better than the Timberwolves over the course of the year.
Vegas usually isn’t wrong, especially twice in a row but …
