Seriously. We can thump our chests about beating the Thunder three games in a row, but to their credit their actual basketball fans (which seem to be few and far between tbh) made the simple point that they just weren’t hitting their baskets, especially 3s.
We can talk about spacing and matchups and the flow of the game all day. And while those things create more wide-open shots and guys are more in-rhythm, the whole point of this game is just putting the ball in the basket, simple as that.
We need more easy alley-oops to Wemby and Kornet, point blank.

Yeah, but the experimental ball we played in the second quarter with Kornet, Bryant, Sochan, Waters, and Harper on the floor lost our lead and dug a hole. Mitch has been doing great lately, but I think his experiments tonight bit us in the ass. There was just not enough consistent offense in that second quarter, and definitely not enough in game experience together for all those guys at once

It was a winnable game but even the 2015 Spurs lost 15 games. We weren’t going to win out.
3pt ball was not going down for us, Utah could not miss. They are a quality team.
Missing Fox for sure.
Good game by KJ and great to see Wemby getting off his minutes restriction. Lots of positives to take from this and should keep us humble and hungry

1. Cool to see Wemby start again and be effective
2. Fox is highly vital for any amount of success we seek this year. Castle is young and will still have down games like this one which is exactly when you need a vet like Fox to be a stabilizing force.
3. We can gripe about Jazz magnet ball which they certainly got a fair share of but the one indictment I might have against Sean Sweeney’s defense is the amount of open 3s we give up.
4. On a day where they were hitting everything they looked at, our defense was noticably better when CB was on the floor.
5. Sochan can still be a good player, but he just doesn’t fit on this team.
6. That sucked but at least it’s over

These are the games where mitch johnson’s strict substitution routines bites us in the back.. 2 more minutes of those hot wemby minutes and we would be up 10..
I mean, if the team is playing well that’s fine. But in games where you only have wemby and KJ going, and they made a huge run to tie the game, you gotta let them miss first or turn the ball over before taking them out. That’s how Luka Doncic sometimes single handedly beating teams. Let this be a one man show at times. Gotta let the heater cool first before pulling the plug. Don’t take Wemby out at his peak momentum LMAO

It wasn’t the Wemby sub. It was subbing back in Barnes and Champagnie. We made a run with those guys on the bench because they were the main culprits playing poor defense. They came in when Wemby sat but Kornet was fine. Those guys immediately gave up 2 threes when they came in and killed the momentum.
