Before the Spurs’ Sunday matchup against the Phoenix Suns, Wemby walked in with some serious Sith lord energy — which might be a reflection of his honest, devil-may-care attitude toward back-to-back losses on the road.
“I’m not stressing over it,” Wembanyama said after the team’s 118-116 Wednesday loss against the Lakers, in which the team’s defenses seemed to be several steps ahead of the superstar’s game.
According to coach Mitch Johnson, Wemby should tap into his villain era. “He needs to be more demonstrative and demand the ball,” Johnson said. “He should yell at everybody in the gym, including his teammates and myself, and he’ll be fine.”
