Spurs announce promotions to basketball operations

The Spurs on Sunday announced several promotions and additions within basketball operations, including elevating three staffers to assistant general manager roles.
Dave Telep, Niraj Mulji and Hao Meng will assist GM Brian Wright after holding other jobs the past several seasons.
Telep, in his 13th season with the club, most recently served as vice president of basketball operations after a three-year stint as director of player personnel from 2019-22 and director of scouting from 2016-19.
Mulji, an 11-year veteran with the franchise, previously served as senior director of basketball strategy, a role he took on at the start of the 2022-23 season.
Meng, who joined the Spurs in 2020, moves up after serving as senior director of strategic analysis and basketball insight from 2022-25.
The Spurs also announced that Xavi Schelling has been promoted to vice president of performance & wellness as he enters his 12th season with the team. Schelling will lead the team’s medical, performance and sports science departments after serving as senior director of player performance and wellness since 2021.
