评分: A-

Grades: Spurs vs. Pistons – Summer League Game #8
The San Antonio Spurs finished summer league in style with a 96-84 victory over the Detroit Pistons. After a slow start that saw the Pistons sprint out to a 12-0 advantage, the Spurs regrouped and were able to waltz to victory behind David Jones-Garcia’s efficient scoring and determined play by his compatriots.
After going 1-2 in the California summer league, the Spurs finished 4-1 in Las Vegas. This final win came without the services of Dylan Harper, Carter Bryant or Riley Minix.
Stats: Spurs vs. Pistons

Spurs vs. Pistons – Final Grades
David Jones-Garcia
Jones-Garcia capped his extremely successful summer league run with another stellar performance. He poured in 23 points in 23 minutes, while shooting 8-for-14 from the floor, 4-for-6 from three-point range and 3-for-3 at the free throw line. His natural ability to score the ball is clear as day. Jones-Garcia has been red hot from three-point range and gets to wherever he wants when traversing the interior. Rebounding was again a positive, as was his hustle on defense. The main question that remains is his passing. He doesn’t see the court especially well and tends to overdribble quite often. Overall, he did great and it’ll be interesting to see if the Spurs try to retain him after he starred so impressively in summer league.
Grade: A-
Harrison Ingram
Ingram deserves credit for being the only contracted player to suit up. He did reasonably well, with his highlights being his advanced feel for passing the ball. Ingram’s smarts and team-first play should be enough to buy him another year on a two-way contract.
Grade: B
Dexter Dennis
Dennis bounced back from his first poor showing in summer league with a really good outing. First of all, his defense popped. He has quick feet, utilizes his athleticism well in the paint and remains engaged at all times. Offensively, Dennis looked solid. He limited his mistakes while confidently shooting three-pointers. He also showed off his athleticism when driving to the cup.
Grade: B+
Kyle Mangas
In an appropriate ending to summer league, Mangas was allowed to start the final game. I never really understood why he got minutes to begin with … so, yeah, the coaching staff made sure that continued from the opening tip. Against the Pistons, he hit a couple three-pointers and was active — but his physical limitations stuck out like a sore thumb during the majority of his 22 minutes.
Grade: C
Ibrahima Diallo
Diallo isn’t an NBA prospect but he did an okay job during summer league. Once again, the 7-footer could be counted on to rebound, contest shots in the paint and play with physicality. Offensively, anything Diallo provided was a bonus — but there weren’t any bonuses versus Detroit.
Grade: B-
Jameer Nelson, Jr.
Nelson began summer league action playing well so, after a stretch of sub par outings, it was good to see him end on a high note. He still had a lot of mistakes during his 18 minutes (three turnovers, five fouls) but his energetic defense was impactful and his aggression on offense paid dividends. He’s sneakily athletic, knows how to draw contact and can orchestrate out on the perimeter when he’s playing with confidence.
Grade: B+
Chibuzo Agbo
Agbo got 18 minutes but, unfortunately for him, failed to really show out. He’ll need to be a three-point shooter to make it as a pro. Regrettably, he made just one three on Saturday night. His defense was nothing special and he doesn’t do a whole lot of offense other than attempt to space the court.
Grade: C-
Osayi Osifo
It was cool to watch Osifo’s growth during summer league. He was all energy and heart at first but he slowly but surely added in some skill. Against the Pistons, his athleticism in the paint was a definite plus — on both sides of the court. He ran the court with determination and his toughness was palpable. Early in summer league, Osifo was a fouling machine. Appropriately, to illustrate his growth, he finished with no fouls in the summer league finale.
Grade: B+
Josh Uduje
Uduje didn’t get much run in summer league but he provided some intrigue on this night. He’s athletic, his shooting stroke looks workable and he plays a smart brand of basketball.
Grade: B+
Cam Carter
Carter never got a long look over the summer but he undeniably brought electricity to the court when his number was called. He’s a shifty athlete who plays with an uncommon amount of self-assuredness. He separates well to get to his jumper. He uses his body well to finish at the rim. His court vision is more than adequate. Sure, Carter doesn’t appear to be the most willing passer or the most dedicated defender, however it would have been entertaining to see him play more than he did.
Grade: B
Jacksen Moni
Moni is tall and can shoot. He needs to work on his body but there’s an outline of a player present.
Grade: B-
Mike Noyes
A 4-1 showing in Vegas has to be considered a win for Noyes and the Spurs. Even without their big guns, the summer league Spurs played hard, played together and played with purpose.
