The Spurs won’t have it easy in group play during the Emirates NBA Cup.
The NBA announced Wednesday the Spurs will be in Group C, which includes three Western Conference playoff teams: the Denver Nuggets, the Houston Rockets and the Golden State Warriors.
The Portland Trail Blazers are also in Group C.
Group play begins Oct. 31 and concludes Nov. 28, the league announced.
The quarterfinals are set for Dec. 9-10. The semifinals are slated for Dec. 13 in Las Vegas and the championship is set for Dec. 16 in Vegas.
The teams in Group A in the Western Conference include the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder, Minnesota Timberwolves, Sacramento Kings, Phoenix Suns and Utah Jazz.
In Group B, it’s the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans.
The Thunder fell to the Milwaukee Bucks in the championship game of last season’s NBA Cup.
The game and broadcast schedules for group play in the 2025 edition will be announced in August.
