He’s cheered on his teammates in home games and even traveled with them a couple of times when it was deemed safe for him to do so. He’s stayed engaged with basketball throughout his recovery, so seeing him attend the NCAA National Championship final game at the Alamodome on Monday was not surprising. His new look, however, turned heads.

They were probably just making small talk, but it’s more fun to imagine Dream giving Wemby some tips about his footwork and the young star extolling the virtues of pulling up from the logo. It would certainly be interesting to see The Alien work out with Olajuwon at some point, like many young centers have before.
It could even happen this summer. The French National Team is still hopeful he will suit up for Eurobasket in the offseason, which is encouraging news for Spurs fans and a sign that he might be back on the court sooner than expected. For now, it’s just good to see Wembanyama seemingly in good spirits and rubbing elbows with NBA royalty.
