The Essence Preparatory basketball team can look forward to a new gym floor, thanks to Spurs Give and Frost Bank.

Spurs Give and Frost Bank announced they have awarded a total of $200,000 to Essence Preparatory and SAY Sí as part of Operation Renovation. The grant program offers eligible nonprofits up to $100,000 to enhance and update their facilities for student learning and safety.
“We are so excited to continue our seventh year of Operation Renovation with Frost,” said Julie McCarty, director of Community Investments for Spurs Sports & Entertainment, in a press release. “These grants don’t just fund upgrades — they open doors to new opportunities, and we’re proud to invest in these efforts for our community.”

Essence Prep will open its doors to a new dance studio with new mirrors and bars, plus a new gym floor to support school athletics and events.
