One of the all-time greats celebrates a huge milestone
They don’t call him the Point God for nothing.
Before last night’s game, Chris Paul needed three dimes to pass Jason Kidd on the NBA’s all-time assist list.
He made no assists in the first quarter, but he ended the night with ten totaling 12,099.
And the one that put him over the edge went to none other than Victor Wembanyama.
Now in his twentieth season, Paul has dished to 173 different NBA players on his quest to be one of the greats.
That leaves him 3,807 assists behind John Stockton, the greatest to ever dish in the NBA. While that is not a feat Paul is likely to reach, there are milestones he may still reach.
The trio of Stockton, Kidd, and Paul are not only the three top assist leaders, but also the top three in NBA history to accumulate steals. While Stockton remains untouchable, Paul is thirty-six steals behind Jason Kidd and could feasibly surpass him a second time this season.
And, of course, there is always the elusive title Paul desires and deserves. While it may not happen this season, the Spurs are poised to continue to improve and can hopefully help CP3 fulfill that goal as well.
