The Spurs have ruled Victor Wembanyama out for Friday night’s game against the Sacramento Kings after he tested his sore lower back in warmups.
Wembanyama arrived at the Frost Bank Center on Friday listed as doubtful.
The star center has now missed two games in a row after suffering the injury in Tuesday night’s loss at Phoenix.
Wembanyama has missed a total of five games this season. The Spurs are 2-2 without him entering Friday’s game.
Wembanyama’s next opportunity to return would be on Sunday when the Spurs host the New Orleans Pelicans. Spurs acting coach Mitch Johnson said “the hope” is Wembanyama would return before the end of the weekend.
