The Spurs will be without Victor Wembanyama when they host the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night. Wembanyama is nursing a sore lower back left over from Tuesday night’s 104-93 loss at Phoenix.
The star center suffered the injury when he was whistled for a charge with 2:23 left. Wembanyama finished with 15 points, all in the second half, and had 13 rebounds. He missed all seven shots in the first half, including six from 3-point range.
Wembanyama missed three games last month with a knee injury.
The 20-year-old Frenchman leads the Spurs in scoring (23.5 points per game), rebounding (10.4) and blocks (a league-high 3.4). He’s also averaging 3.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
