San Antonio and New York will get the Disney treatment on a simultaneous broadcast on Christmas morning
In a family-friendly intiative cheerily referred to as “Dunk the Halls,” Disney, ESPN, and the NBA are collaborating on what they shared today as “the first real-time animated NBA game using Sony’s Beyond Sports technology, Sports Illustrated has learned. Dunk The Halls will air at noon ET on Christmas Day on ESPN2 as an alternate option for the San Antonio Spurs-New York Knicks tilt and feature iconic Disney characters in a virtual live recreation of the on-court action.”
As if there wasn’t enough excitement about the Spurs resuming their rightful place on national television on Christmas, there will be a co-occuring virtual recreation of the Madison Square Garden action on ESPN2. I imagine that the league and networks will announce closer to the date each team’s starting ‘characters.’
