Wembanyama sat out Saturday’s loss at Dallas due to a bruised right knee. The star center suffered the injury in a collision with Anthony Davis in Friday’s loss to the Los Angeles Lakers at the Frost Bank Center.
Wembanyama did not participate in Monday’s practice at the Victory Capital Performance Center, backup point guard Tre Jones said after the workout.
“He wasn’t going up and down today,” Jones said. “We haven’t had a lot of time to rest this year, and we’ve got two days between games. That’s kind of rare right now for us, so I think it was good to give him a little extra rest. I think we’re going to see how he feels tomorrow.”
Wembanyama leads the Spurs (6-8) in scoring (22.7 points), rebounding (10.5) and blocks (3.7) after appearing in the first 13 games.
Guard Devin Vassell will return Tuesday after missing Saturday’s game due to injury management following his return from foot surgery.
