(Victor Wembanyama)
评分:A
(Chris Paul)
评分:A-
(Harrison Barnes)
(Julian Champagnie)
(Stephon Castle)
评分:A-
(Keldon Johnson)
(Devin Vassell)
(Sandro Mamukelashvili)
(Zach Collins)
(Blake Wesley)
(Mitch Johnson)

Grades: San Antonio Spurs vs. Sacramento Kings – Game #11
The San Antonio Spurs were the underdogs against a talented Sacramento Kings squad but the good guys ended up sprinting to a 116-96 victory. Yes, the Kings were tired after playing last night but this still classifies as a very good win for the Spurs.
For much of the first half, San Antonio couldn’t get any separation. That changed when San Antonio scored the final seven points of the half. After intermission, the good times continued as the run carried into the second half. When the smoke cleared, San Antonio’s 22-6 run broke the game open and Sacramento was never able to truly threaten again.
The win improved the Spurs to 5-6 on the season, while the Kings dropped to 6-5.
Stats: Spurs vs. Kings
Spurs vs. Kings – Final Grades
Victor Wembanyama
Alright, now this is the dominant Wembanyama that we know and love. He was all over the place on both ends of the court and seemingly had a hand in every possession. Offensively, Wembanyama drained six three-pointers for the second consecutive game. Importantly, he was able to find ways to score inside the arc, finishing 7-for-10 from two-point range. His passing was excellent and he cleaned up a lot of his sloppiness. Defensively, he was active on the perimeter and an indomitable force on the interior. Let’s hope Wembanyama can bottle this level of play going forward because the Spurs will be hard to beat if he performs like this.
Grade: A
Chris Paul
Paul is no longer in his prime but he’s still a brilliant point guard. His decision-making was nearly flawless tonight. From pick-and-rolls to drive-and-kicks, he was doing it all. Even the simple things like giving up the ball to allow a teammate to have a turn at running the show, Paul was on top of his game in the playmaking department. To go along with his 11 assists, he chipped in 12 points to space the court and also played a very determined brand of defense.
Grade: A-
Harrison Barnes
Barnes seemed to have some extra pep in his step going up against his former team. His early aggression helped get the Spurs on track. Barnes’ intensity waned a bit as the game progressed but he played well overall. His defense was better than usual and he was efficient on the offensive end.
Grade: B+
Julian Champagnie
Good stuff from Champagnie. He successfully spread out the defense by hitting shots from the perimeter. Eventually, the Kings were forced to account for him. His lack of hesitation on his jumpers was great to see. On defense, Champagnie rebounded and moved his feet well out on the perimeter.
Grade: B+
Stephon Castle
Man, this kid. He’s a really fun player to watch already. Castle just makes smart play after smart play. Offensively, his passing — particularly on the move — is already a strength. He sees the court well and can deliver passes in an instant. Castle’s craft and patience when attacking the rim is otherworldly for a 20-year-old. Defensively, he’s good man-to-man and is even better at reading passing lanes. Oh, and Castle knocked down a pair of long three-pointers. If he can knock down threes consistently … dang, he’s going to be good.
Grade: A-
Keldon Johnson
The good: Johnson played with a palpable amount of enthusiasm. His burliness when attacking the lane resulted in a few baskets. His effort was a plus on the defensive end. The bad: Decision-making remains a work in progress. Johnson could have mixed in a couple more passes when driving to the rim. Ironically, he also passed up a couple wide open layups by needlessly passing. Basically, Johnson is still trying to piece things together on the offensive end when it comes to reading and reacting correctly.
Grade: B-
Devin Vassell
Vassell wasn’t as hot as he was in his season debut but he more than did his part during his 21 minutes. He dropped three three-pointers on his way to accumulating 12 points. His shot-selection was iffy at times but he made enough of his jumpers to justify his endeavors. Vassell’s playmaking and his chemistry with Wembanyama were really valuable traits. Defensively, he’s still quite rusty.
Grade: B
Sandro Mamukelashvili
Mamukelashvili played 16 minutes and made the most of his time on the court. He connected on three three-pointers, a couple of which were momentous makes. When he wasn’t hitting threes, he was flying around the court on both ends. Like Vassell, Mamu seems to have quite a bit of chemistry with Wembanyama — and that is never a bad thing. If he keeps playing like this, it’ll be difficult to keep him out of the rotation.
Grade: B+
Zach Collins
Collins played 13 forgettable minutes. He hit a three-pointer and had a big block but the rest of his evening was a dreary one. He was getting overpowered in the paint, he wasn’t rebounding and wasn’t making any notable difference in the passing game. Collins has had some good games this year but this wasn’t one of them.
Grade: D+
Blake Wesley
Wesley was technically on the court for 11 minutes but, uh, he failed to make an impact — to put it gently. Offensively, he was passing up shots while also not creating for others. He turned the ball over a couple times but that was about the extent of what he was up to during his minutes. Defensively, he applied pressure here and there but, net-net, he did very little of note.
Grade: D+
Mitch Johnson
Johnson is looking more and more comfortable as the head coach. He’s not shy about voicing his displeasure when players make mistakes. He’s doing a great job of modernizing San Antonio’s offense by focusing more on the volume of three-pointers attempted. Against the Kings, Johnson had numerous plays to establish Wembanyama inside of the arc — and that’s vital for a variety of reasons.
