The first win streak of the season!
Coming off a bounce-back win against the Utah Jazz on Halloween night, the Spurs came back home to face the Minnesota Timberwolves. The T-Wolves were on a SEGABABA, so they were fatigued coming into the Frost Bank Center. The Spurs seized their opportunity to take advantage. After keeping up with the fast-paced offense for the first quarter, the game was tied at 32. San Antonio then built a five-point lead at halftime, (62-57), and never looked back. The Spurs’ offense looked fluid with Chris Paul as the floor general, Victor Wembanyama as the main two-way star, Jeremy Sochan as the much-improved scorer and also a two-way player, and Keldon Johnson as the scoring leader off the bench. Those four combined for 76 of the Spurs’ 113 points in a 113-103 victory.
Keldon Johnson led the Spurs off the bench with 25 points, eight rebounds, and two steals. This is Keldon’s best game so far, and it came off of more efficient looks. He challenged Rudy Gobert on multiple drives to the rim, and sunk his open threes. Hopefully, he continues this efficiency the rest of the season.
