A couple of days ago, the Spurs announced their training camp roster. Camp started Tuesday.

The San Antonio Spurs announced their 2024 training camp roster, which currently stands at 21 players. The Silver and Black returns 13 players from last season and features seven of San Antonio’s first round draft picks from the last six seasons, as well as four offseason additions.

Here was the addition to the announcement that caught my attention.

The Spurs roster came with a guide that gave phonetic pronunciation for Charles Bassey, Malaki Branham, Julian Champagnie, Sidy Cissoko, Keldon Johnson, Sandro Maukelashvili, Jeremy Sochan, Devin Vassell, and Victor Wembanyama.

Considering the international history of the Spurs, and how Manu Ginobili’s name was pronounced on draft night, a pronunciation guide is warranted.

I guess we can all handle Chris Paul without too much confusion.
