The Spurs’ Derrick White goes up for the shot against the 76ers’ Danny Green during the first half Sunday, March 14, 2021, in Philadelphia.

Former Spur Danny Green appears to have been visiting San Antonio this weekend when he posted on social media that he misses the city he once called home.

“Always love in SA…miss the city,” Green wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Spurs fans returned the warm feelings the former North Carolina Tarheel expressed, taking to the comments to write that Green is one of our own.

“Spur for life,” wrote Bexar County Social Apparel.

Mostly playing as a shooting guard, Green was part of the Spurs’ 2014 NBA Finals winning squad. He played a total of eight seasons in silver and black until being traded in 2018 along with Kawhi Leonard to the Toronto Raptors.

San Antonio’s mystique seems to charm many Spurs, with many of the team’s longtime players settling down in the city. X user Matthew Tynan captured that sentiment with a post in response to Green’s: “Once you plant roots here it’s a tough place to leave behind.”
