The Spurs took another step to ensure that they have a highly competitive training camp by agreeing to terms on a deal with small forward Brandon Boston Jr.
Boston was added to the roster on the team’s website Friday, just a few days after the club signed guard Malachi Flynn to a one-year, non-guaranteed deal.
Boston has spent the past three seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers after being selected in the second round (51st overall) in the 2021 draft following one season at Kentucky.
In 105 regular season games with the Clippers, the 6-foot-7, 185-pound Georgia native averaged 6.2 points while shooting 31.3% from 3-point range on 1.8 attempts. In 32 games last season, he averaged just 10.8 minutes, 5.2 points and shot 26.9% from beyond the arc on 1.6 attempts.

Spurs hire new G League coach
The Spurs have hired a well-respected New York Knicks staffer to serve as head coach of their G League affiliate, a league source confirmed Friday.
ESPN first reported the Spurs had reached a deal with Knicks assistant director of player development Scott King to guide the Austin Spurs.
King replaces Will Voigt, who left Austin in June after one season to become an assistant coach at BYU.
King also was in charge of coach’s challenges with the Knicks, a role in which worked closely with coach Tom Thibodeau and his staff.
The Knicks won 47 challenges in 2023-24, the 11th most in the NBA, the New York Post reported. They led the league in both total challenges (eight) and successful challenges (six) during the first round of the playoffs, according to the Post.
