The San Antonio Spurs extended their unbeaten start to the Las Vegas Summer League to three after beating the New Orleans Pelicans 90-85 in a Tuesday night affair in Sin City.
In what was a close encounter all the way through, the Summer Spurs made just enough shots late to stave off the pesky Pelicans.
With #4 Overall Pick Stephon Castle out for the rest of the week, the Silver & Black relied heavily on a collective team approach to pull themselves within reaching distance of the Summer League playoffs.
The Pelicans had a few notable names on their roster, with 2023 lottery pick and sharpshooter, Jordan Hawkins as their standout along with 2024 first rounder, Yves Missi. They also had former Summer Spur and Two-Way Austin Spur, Jordan Hall in their starting group.
Observations:
- Jamaree ‘Clutch’ Bouyea continued his stellar summer play with another collection of eye-popping shots late in the game to help the Spurs claim victory. Massalski played for the Austin Spurs in 23-24 and is showcasing himself nicely for another run with the team in 2025. The 6’9 Forward had 7 points and 10 rebounds in just 17 minutes of play.
