Tony, what do you think about this second win against Cleveland ?
We have played a big game, both offensively and defensively. In the last quarter, we were guilty of a small let down which allowed Cleveland to come back in the game. It is hard to win by more than 20 points in an NBA Final’s game. People don’t realize that it is only human to relax a bit when you have such a lead; the intensity fells. Also, we must not dream that Cleveland could loose a by 40 points. In every game, at any moment one of the team has more success on the offense. The Cavaliers have had their run in the last quarter.
Even with this very nice win, you do not seem completely satisfied?/span>
No, it is like that. I am simply trying to keep my feet on the ground. We must not believe that these finals will be a walk in the park. I remember the 2005 finals. We had won by 20 against Detroit in Game 2. We had a 2-0 lead arriving in Auburn Hill and then lost Games 3 and 4. Cleveland is a team that plays better at home. With the euphoria of the crowd they will shoot better, thus we must not get carried away now.
With 30 points, you are once again the highest scorer of the game. Nothing seems to stop you in these games.
I try to be as aggressive as possible. As my outside shots were going in, everything became easier. With Manu and Tim, we’ve scored 78 of the Spurs?103 points. The big three will currently at full speed but the Spurs are not made of only three players. It is entire collective system and everyone did their job. Robert (Horry) was great throughout the evening. Defensively, he helped us a lot (9 rebounds and 5 blocks). Once again we must not believe that it is over. We will keep on working, studying Cleveland during a video session in order to be even stronger for Game 3.
