Spurs’ De’Aaron Fox, Dylan Harper listed as questionable for Game 3
The Spurs’ daily injury report lent little clarity to the availability of a pair of key players heading into Game 3 of the Western Conference finals.
De’Aaron Fox (right ankle sprain) and Dylan Harper (right adductor soreness) have been designated as questionable for Friday’s clash against Oklahoma City at the Frost Bank Center.
Fox, who was injured against Minnesota in the conference semifinals, has not played since the clinching Game 6 of that series. Harper, who had been starting in Fox’s place against OKC, left the Spurs’ Game 2 defeat Wednesday in the third quarter after landing awkwardly fighting for a rebound.
Spurs coach Mitch Johnson has said Fox’s availability is likely to be a day-to-day question for the remainder of the playoffs. Now Harper’s is similarly uncertain.
If both players are out Friday, Johnson would need to tab a new starter to replace Harper at one guard spot. Veteran reserve Jordan McLaughlin saw his minutes increase after Harper’s departure Wednesday.
“We have to continue to trust our depth and guys have to step up and when their name is called and answer the bell,” Johnson said.
The Thunder, meanwhile, could be without All-Star forward Jalen Williams, who aggravated a hamstring strain in Game 2. He is expected to be day-to-day.
