Paul Garcia (@ PaulGarciaNBA):
Earlier the Spurs announced Wemby and Castle will both miss tonight’s game against Portland.
Wemby has Friday vs Dallas and Sunday vs Denver to try to log 20 mins in at least 1 of those games to qualify for end of season awards.
Paul Garcia (@ PaulGarciaNBA):
Per the NBA, a Spurs loss tonight or Thunder win tonight locks up 1st for OKC out West.
Should that happen, Phoenix, the Clippers, and Portland are potential Spurs round 1 opponents depending on where they finish in the standings and play-in tournament outcome.

Sam Quinn (@ SamQuinnCBS):
Multiple things can be bad at once. The Spurs shouldn’t have Harper and the Mavericks shouldn’t have Flagg and I dislike a system that allows for either outcome.

De’Aaron Fox is shooting 26 percent from 3 since March 1. Not great.
But he’s shooting 74 percent at the rim and 57 percent on all mid-range shots during the same span.
Get that 3 ball back closer to career average during the postseason and that PnR with Wemby is gonna hum.

Victor Wembanyama, the San Antonio Spurs’ MVP candidate, suffered a left rib contusion in a win over the Philadelphia 76ers on April 6. usatoday.com/story…
Sam Quinn (@ SamQuinnCBS):
Flagg to Dallas is also bad as a lottery outcome but it’s less detrimental to the league’s overall competitive picture. I’d liken Harper/Spurs more to the Shaq Magic winning the lottery again. Interesting that the league was disturbed enough by that to change the rules in ‘94.

There’s a looming 65-game rule crisis I want to address even though it’s a year out. In all likelihood, Victor Wembanyama will need to play 65 games next season in order to earn eligibility for the boosted Rose Rule 30% max.
You can earn that eligibility in three years by…
