(Victor Wembanyama)

**评分：A-**

(De’Aaron Fox)

(Stephon Castle)

**评分：A**

(Devin Vassell)

**评分：A+**

(Julian Champagnie)

**评分：A-**

(Keldon Johnson)

(Dylan Harper)

(Harrison Barnes)

(Luke Kornet)

(Carter Bryant)

(Mitch Johnson)

> # Grades: San Antonio Spurs at Detroit Pistons – Game #57
>
> The San Antonio Spurs passed another important test with flying colors. The Detroit Pistons, the team with the best record in the NBA, hosted the Spurs on Monday night and the good guys were able to pull away with a 114-103 victory.
>
> It was a hardfought win in which the Spurs had to play with an uncommon amount of moxie. There were rough patches but San Antonio battled, battled and ultimately proved, once again, that they are for real.

> ## Spurs at Pistons – Final Grades
>
> ### Victor Wembanyama
>
> Wembanyama played 36 minutes of physical, intense basketball. All in all, the young Frenchman performed well. Offensively, he had a tough time getting going due to Detroit’s bruising defense but he got better as the game progressed and he finished 7-for-8 from the line. His determination and persistence on that end were applause-worthy. Defensively, Wembanyama was an absolute beast. His rim protection was otherworldly, he rebounded great and he displayed relentless hustle. Anyone who watched this game would have to admit that he’s the best defensive player on the planet.
>
> **Grade: A-**
>
> ### De’Aaron Fox
>
> The good: Fox passed the ball well, as evidenced by his seven assists. He pushed the pace and finished with only two turnovers. Fox played well defensively and made a couple timely buckets. The bad: The speedster finished only 4-for-17 from the field, including an 0-for-5 showing from deep. His inefficient scoring while leading the team in field goal attempts helped keep the Pistons in the ballgame.
>
> **Grade: C**
>
> ### Stephon Castle
>
> Perhaps the leading story of this matchup between two of the league’s best teams was Castle’s defense against MVP candidate Cade Cunningham. Castle helped cause him to shoot a nightmarish 5-for-26 from the field. His defense was magnificent; it was both technically flawless and amazingly gritty. Offensively, Castle did really well. His toughness driving the ball was valuable and his passing was game-changing. He finished with 11 assists as he flashed star potential on both ends.
>
> **Grade: A**
>
> ### Devin Vassell
>
> This was a bigtime performance by Vassell in the center of the spotlight. The Spurs simply don’t win this game without his production. Vassell had a team-high 28 points on 10-for-14 shooting from the field, including 7-for-11 from deep. He came out on fire and remained ablaze for the duration of the contest. Moreover, he was the secondary defender against Cunningham and did a really good job in that role as well.
>
> **Grade: A+**
>
> ### Julian Champagnie
>
> Champagnie’s work got overshadowed a bit but he too was a big part of this victory. He was 5-for-8 from three-point range, rebounded well and defended at a high level. When he’s this aggressive, he’s an elite three-and-D cog in the wheel. Champagnie had a few miscues here and there but overall he was impressive.
>
> **Grade: A-**
>
> ### Keldon Johnson
>
> Johnson’s numbers don’t jump off the page but his toughness was invaluable. The Pistons tried to beat up the Spurs but Johnson was having none of it. He fought back and matched Detroit’s physicality almost singlehandedly. Johnson hit a couple big shots and got a couple big boards but it was his intangibles that made him so valuable against the Pistons.
>
> **Grade: B+**
>
> ### Dylan Harper
>
> Harper did well. He was only 2-for-7 from the field but he created good shots for himself and others. Being able to create against this type of defensive team on the road was uber impressive for a rookie. He also played good defense and didn’t turn the ball over. Good stuff.
>
> **Grade: B+**
>
> ### Harrison Barnes
>
> This was another good opportunity for Barnes to show his worth but he failed in that mission. He hit one three-pointer but it could have (and probably should have) been more. His defense was nothing to write home about and his work on the boards was mediocre at best.
>
> **Grade: C**
>
> ### Luke Kornet
>
> With Wembanyama playing more than usual, Kornet only played nine minutes. Kornet was also forced out of the game for a bit due to an injury. But to his credit, he came back and helped hold down the fort while Wembanyama rested. His rebounding and defense were good and he helped keep the offense humming.
>
> **Grade: B**
>
> ### Carter Bryant
>
> Bryant only played four minutes but I liked what he showed. The rookie drained a three-pointer and matched Detroit’s physicality. Bryant ended up getting called for three fouls but I love that the rookie played with chutzpah and didn’t back down.
>
> **Grade: Inc.**
>
> ### Mitch Johnson
>
> I mean, what more can you say about Coach Mitch getting his squad ready to win a road game against a very good opponent? The gameplans were very good on both sides of the ball. The rotation made sense. Most importantly, the team being ready, willing and able to step up their collective physicality in Detroit reflects well on the coaching staff.
