> _With an razor-thin assist from Spurs teammate Keldon Johnson, Victor Wembanyama has gone bald heading into Thursday night’s game._
>
> Victor Wembanyama and Keldon Johnson had a hair-raising experience after the Spurs returned from Oklahoma City late Tuesday night.
>
> Check that. Make that a hair-_razing_ experience.
>
> Not long upon returning from the Spurs’ 119-98 loss to the Thunder, Johnson and Wembanyama got the, ahem, wild hair to shave each other’s heads.
>
> They publicly debuted their freshly shorn scalps at shootaround Thursday morning, before the Spurs were set to host Milwaukee.
>
> “Bad things happen when we lose to OKC, I guess,” teammate De’Aaron Fox joked.
>
> To hear Johnson tell it, the Kojak lookalike competition was a long time in the offing.

> “I’ve been looking for a reason to do it,” Johnson said.
>
> Johnson considered shaving his head last week, but thought better when he realized the Spurs had a handful of nationally televised games on the docket.
>
> When the Spurs’ team plane landed after the most recent of those outings in Oklahoma City, Johnson decided it was time.
>
> He got an assist from his tallest teammate. Not only did Wembanyama encourage Johnson to go through with the extreme haircut, the 7-foot-4 Frenchman volunteered to join him.
>
> "Vic was like, "Yo, let’s bald our head.’ " Johnson said. "And I was like, ‘Let’s do it.’ "
>
> When it came time to go full cue ball, the Spurs duo took matters into their own hands.
>
> First Wembanyama shaved Johnson’s head. Then Johnson returned the favor.
>
> In fit of shear lunacy, add barber skills to the list of things Wembanyama can apparently do.
>
> “He did good,” Johnson said. "He was quick with it. No lie. Vic probably took like three minutes. I’m like, ‘Wow.’ "

>
> Johnson was less enamored with his own handiwork. Wembanyama came out of physical game against the Thunder with a lump on his head, making the going slower on the big man’s dome.
>
> “I was trying to make sure everything went smooth, take my time,” Johnson said. “You know what I’m saying? I had to fade it up a little bit at first. Then I gave him a little bowl cut and then we went from there.”
>
> Nevertheless, thanks to Johnson’s razor, Wembanyama will arrive at the Frost Bank Center for Thursday night’s game now standing 7-3¾.
>
> It is not the first time Wembanyama has gone full bald. He also shaved his head during the summer, after [visiting with Shaolin monks in China](https://www.expressnews.com/lifestyle/article/victor-wembanyama-monk-retreat-china-20368080.php).
>
> It did not take Johnson long into Thursday morning’s shootaround session to determine the downside to his new 'do.
>
> “This is the first time my head had been sweating,” he said.
