(Victor Wembanyama)

(De’Aaron Fox)

(Stephon Castle)

(Devin Vassell)

(Harrison Barnes)

(Luke Kornet)

评分: A

(Keldon Johnson)

评分: A-

(Dylan Harper)

(Kelly Olynyk)

(Mitch Johnson)

>
> In a game that wasn’t exactly aesthetically-pleasing, the San Antonio Spurs escaped a road game against the Washington Wizards with a 124-113 victory. The Spurs outscored the Wizards 43-21 in the second quarter to grab control of the game. San Antonio didn’t play too well in the second half but they did enough to stay comfortably ahead and seal their sixth straight win.

> ## Spurs at Wizards – Final Grades
>
> ### Victor Wembanyama
>
> Coming off the bench, Wembanyama once again packed a whole lot of production in a short amount of minutes. The Frenchman finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in only 22 minutes. Although Wembanyama missed all three of his three-pointers, he was 6-for-10 from two-point range. Defensively, he was active in the middle and was especially dominant on the boards. Offensively, Wembanyama had his moments but it wasn’t an especially noteworthy performance on that end.

> **Grade: B**
>
> ### De’Aaron Fox
>
> After a pair of games that saw Fox score in single-digits, he was back to his previous form in Washington DC. Fox poured in 27 points in 33 minutes and did so efficiently. His 5-for-7 shooting from three-point range raised his percentage on the season to 39.5%. While Fox’s energy level fluctuated a lot against the Wizards (particularly on the defensive end), it’s difficult to be upset about the results. In addition to the points, the speedster also had seven rebounds, six assists and zero turnovers.
>
> **Grade: B+**
>
> ### Stephon Castle
>
> The good: Physical driving to the rim resulted in 13 free throw attempts for Castle. His passing was great, as evidenced by his 11 assists to go along with only two turnovers. Castle did well on the boards. The bad: Castle was 4-for-16 from the field, hit only 1-of-5 three-point tries and missed four free throws. Defensively, there were stretches where it appeared as if he was just going through the motion. Overall: Castle did well in a lot of areas but we’ve arrived at the point in time where the Spurs expect more from him.
>
> **Grade: C**
>
> ### Devin Vassell
>
> Vassell can’t be too pleased with his play. He had 11 points on 3-of-11 shooting, including 2-for-7 from three-point range. Additionally, his defense was nothing to write home about. That said, Vassell does deserve some credit for the timeliness of his shots. Both of his three-pointers came in the third quarter when the Wizards were rolling. Without those timely buckets, San Antonio could have let the entirety of their lead slip away.
>
> **Grade: C-**
>
> ### Harrison Barnes
>
> Thankfully, that 0-for-18 three-point stretch is becoming a thing of the past. Barnes hit a couple of longballs against the Wizards and added a few baskets going toward the rim. His rebounding was anemic and his defense was unremarkable but the silver lining is that Barnes is looking more like Barnes again.
>
> **Grade: C**
>
> ### Luke Kornet
>
> With the Spurs floundering in mediocrity for a lot of this contest, Kornet did a great job of stepping up and filling the void. Starting at center once again, the seven-footer had 20 points and 12 rebounds in 28 minutes. His screening, rolling and finishing were all at high levels. He did outstanding work rebounding-wise and he was seemingly always in the right spot at the right time. Kornet playing physical basketball while also doing the little things on both ends has made him a very valuable cog.
>
> **Grade: A**
>
> ### Keldon Johnson
>
> When things get sluggish, the Spurs can almost always rely on Johnson’s energy. That was once again the case versus the Wizards. Johnson hit a pair of three-pointers during an otherwise cold stretch for San Antonio’s shooters. He pulled down nine rebounds in 24 minutes. In total, he tallied 12 points, kept his enthusiasm high and limited his mistakes. Good work.
>
> **Grade: A-**
>
> ### Dylan Harper
>
> Harper played like a road weary teenager. He missed all eight of his shots from the field, including four from downtown. He only had one point and three assists in 18 minutes. Playmaking-wise, there were flashes but Harper uncharacteristically missed open teammates. His mistake rate was also at a higher level than normal. All in all, this was a night for the 19-year-old to forget.
>
> **Grade: D-**
>
> ### Kelly Olynyk
>
> Olynyk got nine minutes of playing time, including some time at power forward. I thought he did fine. He had four points and four rebounds and held up well on the defensive end. Offensively, he remained aggressive to force Washington to account for him.
>
> **Grade: B+**
>
> ### Mitch Johnson
>
> The good: Johnson did a good job of not panicking and he avoided playing Wembanyama extra minutes unnecessarily. The bad: San Antonio’s lackluster play in the second half was unsightly.
